I recieved an email today with the subject of: Do we have correct information for you? Please check.

My first thought was, maybe Target's getting ready to roll out some CLIs. But the only things available to update are my billing address and phone number(s). No place to enter income. I wonder how they determine CLIs without that bit of info? But, more importantly, when can I expect to see an increase?!? <_<

I got my Target Card last July with a $1,000 limit and right before black Friday they gave me a $500.00 increase. I called and asked about an increase and they say they review periodically and they asked for my income so maybe I'll get another one soon.

You have a better chance of seeing a Unicorn than a Target CLI

I did get a CLI on my Target card. It started at $400(?) I think. It's $700 now.

Lucky! There are a few rare individuals who have gotten some Target love. I gave up.

Maybe it makes up for the $20 CLI I got on my HSBC card way back when. Which then stayed at $320 until over a year after Cap1 inherited the account.  Edited by dansamy

I must be part of the "rare" group because they give me a CL increase about every 6 mos. I started at 300 in 2013 and my credit limit increased to 1200 in 2014. I'm waiting on my first increase for 2015!

I've had mine since 2007, hasn't budged. However, back then when it was managed by Target, I did go from $500 to $5000 after six months and PC'ed from Red Card to Visa. Nothing since then.

Ok. So I went back in my statement history to see. My Target RedCard actually started at $500 when I first got it in 2013. Then, it went up to the $700 around Black Friday. It's been stuck for a little over a year now.

But I was carrying a balance up until recently. Now that it's PIF, I will try running my monthly grocery budget through there & see what that does. I still won't expect another increase until around October/November.

They probably gave you a CLI because you paid them interest every month and wanted you to spend even more. Now that you PIF, I doubt you'll see an increase. I use mine monthly and PIF and I've never had a CLI.

I got the card in Dec 2012 with a $300 CL. It was increased to my current limit of $900 in Dec 2013.

Last night I did a bunch of googling about Target CLIs and came across a post where someone said she got her account flagged for a CLI review. So today I called a target rep and asked her if that was true. She said yes, that they just need to have updated info, which turned out to be current income. She said it's now flagged and their system will review it on a monthly basis. I guess there may be hope after all? Don't worry, I'm not holding my breath.

The first three months I had the card, I was running thousands of dollars through & PIF frequently because I was hoarding up Disney gift cards at 5% off for a Disney trip.

Then, after my trip, I carried a balance for while.
