So you requested a cli to a large amount and they wanted proof of your income?

God forbid a bank actually wants some proof of your claims before loaning you thousands of dollars without any collateral.

If you indeed had the income that you claimed, why is it an issue?

No AF...why cancel?

The 5% categories make it easy enough to keep around...not that I like it...but I was already dumb enough to apply so I keep it.

I do see some decent shop Disco deals.

SD would be a lot more interesting if they actually paid you.

I don't really like Discover and their crappy limits.

But, Q2 is restaurants. This will be the only time it actually gets a slot in my wallet on a daily basis.

Q3 looks to be home improvement, which means gift cards at 5%.

Q4 online shopping and department stores, which either means more gift cards or stacking the 5% with some kind of portal deal.

Mine never gets used outside of the 5% categories, and never gets used beyond (reasonably) the $1,500 cap / category.

And the cash back always gets redeemed to a gift card that I get an extra 10%-20% on.

Ironically I'm using my Discover card more than I was using it before though when I get a Freedom later this year, I might be SDing Discover again. As I've said before, love hate relationship with the card though it's not my lowest limit anymore thank God.

So, you're not interested in the new Discover It Miles card? 1.5X miles (1.5% cash back effectively) with effectively double points the first year?

I like Discover. They give me a small ($1000 - $1500) SP CLI every 3 months after the first year. I just have to request it.

Only if someone isn't eligible for a signup offer/bonus on Arrival+ or Venture. If they are and choose this instead they're an salamander unless they plan on putting over $50K on it in year 1.

Even then, that extra 1.5% you don't see for a year.

And in year 2 its a turd 1.5%. You can't PC it to anything or close it and combine limits to another decent card so what's the point? There is no need for a standard IT with over a $2K limit...just enough to max out the quarterly categories.

What are you going to do with a $10K limit IT? Run up $10K on it for 1% cash back instead of 1MR point or 1 UR point, or 1 mile all of which have a greater value than $0.01. Otherwise use a Fidelity or Citi 2% card.

Just another Premium Bankcard account. That plus $5 gets me a cup of green tea at Starbucks...

I have a $15k it, and I just use it to buy one $2 Amazon gift card per month. I (literally) only have space in my wallet for two credit cards, and the teal and orange turd will never make the cut.

I was talking more along the lines of comparing it to an Arrival+. Once the Arrival + goes FULL FECAL at its one year anniversary, you can close it and move the limits off to another Barclays card. That would be the plan from the first day it was opened.

There is no long term strategy (or at least not a good one) with the Disco Miles. We really don't even know if Discover will let you combine limits. It could be you have two low limit cards that will max out your exposure and keep you stuck with sub $10K lines for eternity.

Which Barclaycard is best for our limit-storing, I was looking and didn't find much.

For me it's US Air. I can run $10K or $15K business invoices through it and stack miles without bumping against its limits. 1 US Air mile is worth more to me than $0.02.

Eventually I'll get an EDP, move my Costco card limits to it and seesaw the two.
