Quick question:

I know you get asked for finances at the $25,000 credit limit mark from Amex.

Is it AT 25k or ABOVE 25k (i.e., 25,001 or 25,100)?

So, can you request exactly 25k as a limit without getting smacked with a financial review or request for income verification and the like?

3x what you have now is supposed to be the limit. If you have an $8k card, you can ask for $24k. If you have a $9k card, you can ask for a $27k card, and so on.

Asking for more than $25k should not trigger a financial review, but it may trigger a request for income verification. It's believed that that you should expect a request for income verification if you ask for more than $25k, but like so many things credit related, YMMV.

You do not get asked for a 4506-T immediately. It can come at any time.

If you were truthful about your income, there is no big deal for a 4506-T.

If you lied, say bye bye to your Amex. Or at least be prepared for some credit decreases etc.

Which line on a 1040 tax return does Amex consider income?

(in regard to a 4506-T)

Line 22 Total Income?

Line 37 AGI?

Something else?

I believe they focus on AGI but who knows. You can google the 4506-T form to see what they see. You can order one for yourself from the IRS. I did and it took like ten days to show up in the mail. Then you will see what they will see.
