From my experience you can't be both choosy and a whore at the same time. Either you will sleep with anyone who will take you or you won't.

Sure you can. A one time cash bonus of $400 is nothing compared to 250K UR points on the Ink Plus in 5x categories every year.

A true whore would always go for both. Always.

Sorry, I don't go both ways.

Perhaps this is a good thing?

Later this year after I get the cards I really want, I might go after a card just like this Venture, the Arrival+. Same basic product. Same tactic.

But the Arrival+ will eventually be combined onto my US Air for creating a $30K+ line. Cap1 doesn't like to give CLI's, and won't let you move limits around. That's where the strategy comes in to play.

I think this approach is called "thinking past the end of one's nose."

refresh my memory - are signature cards the ones that don't report your CL anyway unless you actually let a high balace report?

Ah..

I know what you're saying..

I think you're referring to "Flexible Spending" limits.

maybe. like I've said recently, I've been out of the loop just gardening on my own away from CB for a couple of years. I'm not submitting the application if it won't report anyway so that's why I'm asking, because it's open and filled out and waiting for me...

@GGE- I believe you're thinking of the fact that CapOne used to report that way in general. That is no longer the case and they do report both limit and high balance now.

@GR8 - All three of my Flexible Spending Limit cards report both limit and high credit.

I tried the VentureOne last month on the 13th and got instantly denied citing that info from EX and EQ was missing. I had EX frozen but not EQ and they pulled EQ a day later.

So tempted to try again this month but for the Venture this time.

Been wanting to go for this as well, bt waiting for some other plays, so I had the DG go for it a few minutes ago, she was approved for $10k @ 20.9% with the 40k bonus after $3k spend.

Her stats:

bk7 discharged 4 years ago.....scores 640-665 across.....75% utility.....4-inq's each cr about a year old & 38.5k income reported

Now I really want to app. my income x3 with 2% util & 685-705 across for me, but still hesitant

Honestly, there is no reason to app for the Venture One instead of the Venture. Venture One only pays $200 bonus versus $400 bonus for Venture. Venture has no annual fee the first year. Venture One only pays 1.25% cash for travel only.

Get the Venture, get the $400 and in one year PC it to a QS. (QS pays 1.5% cash back with no category restrictions versus Venture One paying 1.25% cash back in travel only). If they won't PC you to a QS then PC to Venture One at that point. No use throwing away the other $200 of travel cash.

That seems totally outrageous from CapOne's end. Congrats DG on the approval.

Time to short Cap 1 stock?

This is killing me... my plan was to 2 for 1 Amex in April for D* and do nothing until then. I have solid Fico scores (TU and EX 750+ with EQ at about 725). $85K income and a couple of TL's $20K plus... nothing outrageous on inq's (4 EX, 4 EQ & 1 TU)

But this card was not in the plan... however, to me it's almost worth it for the $400 bonus, but I'm still hesitant.

I want one. But, I already have 3, so no.

MA,

FWIW, I was just approved for my third and fourth Cap1 cards in the past week.

It's VERY tempting to try for the Venture but, that would be 5!

YMMV

S4S, don't you tempt me!

His whole story is incredibly shocking and I don't know whether to believe it or not. But I also can't find any fakery in the images. Perhaps someone with a better eye can.

If that person actually has this level of Freedom Unlimited, he or she would be over here working that magic. The reason why this person isn't over here is because we ask/demand as many data points as we can get.

Six in one day? Do you think we wouldn't have found out how to do this by now (if it were real)?

Catching up w/ thread. Haven't GPed yet. Source of data is now questionable.

You have a solid long-term plan.

If this interests you, then add it to your plan.

But you are one of the few who arrives with a solid plan in place. You would likely get another 20k line.

Remember not to believe much of the reported data elsewhere.

I'm just going to GP it. No real plan after that. I could use a 15k+ line though...

No guarantee on that you will get a 15K line

I'm still into GPing it in the morning. I mean, I like to GP when I can. Research is research. Calling a UW, or searching for new B* softs, or GPing at stuff - all the same to me.

Approved for $30k @ 13.9%. Three existing Crap1 cards at $2750, $750, and $750, Scores in the mid to upper 600's.

What are your other 3 cards? I'm trying to figure out if I can apply for a second Venture (like the Venture 1) I want a 20K or 30K. I have the 10K.
