I'll pass myself. I'm looking forward to closing my Cap1 card in the next few years just to feel like I've closed the rebuilding chapter.

The way I look at is, I was not interested in this card yesterday so I SHOULD hold true to my long term plan. That is all I was saying to others as well.

 

Just stay true to your plan. If the bonus is good for you, bite. A high limit isn't enough for me.

Diners gave me a 20k hidden line, CapOne gave me a 10k Siggy...first one, NASA only gave me 5k and has been stubborn about budging with me getting love from everyone else. I buy my monitoring service with NASA that's about it.....I just really wanted that shuttle launch card.

Almost got me to pull the trigger (even though I'm trying to hold the line on apps for "sock drawer" cards). Fortunately, Cap 1 just declined me for an EO CLI request on my 7 year old, $14k card for non-use (on ice since I paid off a 0% bt Jan '14).

 

That was a fresh reminder of how much they've cheesed me off over the years. Refused to CLI my 2002 rebuilder, so had to apply for a new one. "Lost" my approved online app (system offered up an approval with CL and then went into a black hole when I hit "accept"), after 3 pulls, and after an hour of telephone musical chairs their only resolution was to apply again (and take another round of "hards").

 

I have 500k+ in revolvers. Don't need the additional credit. Rather nice enticement bonus, but not worth loading up on more C®AP 1.

Apparently so. I just found the original 50K thread over on MyFico ( http://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Credit-Card-Approvals/Capital-One-Denied-CLI-Approved-for-50K-on-New-Card/td-p/3776016) and, although posted a few days ago (2/2), the op actually reported-

 

 

Then in December I just decided to apply for a CapitalOne Venture card for their 40,000 bonus miles, and was given a $50,000 credit limit.

So, it's not exactly new (though it was news to me).

Yeah, I intentionally didn't do that. You know, the CB effect and all of that. I bet Cap One is going to have to hire contractors for all of the applications they are goign to get now lol.

 

Seriously, it pays to read each thread thoroughly. There are some hidden gems that you can find when you do that.
