The no AF card is particularly bizarre because it only pays 1.25% cash back for travel category spend only. I mean the QS pays 1.5% cash back without restriction. I'm not sure what they were thinking on this one.

I've never been to a GWL, but I've heard that's where Disney looted the idea of the "Magic" bands that have half the Disney crowd thrilled, the other half torked off.

Its awesome, they have like 5000 life guards and good food and drinks. Just show up, kids play, parents get loaded and don't have to worry about safety. :-)

Two days is more than enough IMO.

You thought that cap 1 thought things out when they roll something out?

The annual fee is $59 so it takes about 3K in spend to cover the annual fee. Doesn't seem like too much to me.

Compared to other no AF 2% cash back cards it is, which was why I asked.

I'm just wondering what the long term plan is since everyone will eventually outgrow this card but want to keep the history and potentially high CL.

I fully intend to PC down to the $0AF as long as that's also a Signature (or I have another by then).

This card was nowhere near my list of wants. I just jumped at what I perceived to be an opportunity.

You have to do that. :good:

Congrats on the approval BTW. :D

Yes Aahz, taking nothing from your approval either.

I have seen these threads before, is all I was saying. Some people not wanting to app, will probably get one. :P

Is Jay "some people"?

I'll pass myself. I'm looking forward to closing my Cap1 card in the next few years just to feel like I've closed the rebuilding chapter.

I totally get that. I've almost taken my ugly QS cards to the shredder several times here recently. I appreciate them giving me what I needed to cover a medical emergency last year on 0% but bigger and better things have come along.

You shouldn't be embarrassed to be holding a CAP 1 in your wallet...

I'm due for a CLI with the EO this month and need to get the AF waived on my QS1 or PC to the regular QS. If they don't do that for me, I'm closing it.

I'm just going to GP it. No real plan after that. I could use a 15k+ line though...

No guarantee on that you will get a 15K line

3 years in March, but with Amex D* it's no longer as important. My DCU card is 4 months younger as well.

I'm still into GPing it in the morning. I mean, I like to GP when I can. Research is research. Calling a UW, or searching for new B* softs, or GPing at stuff - all the same to me.

It still is your oldest line and I know it won't hurt your AAOA, but IMO, having your oldest account open looks better....

EXCEPT if its a FP or a CreditOne....

Husband apped for this last night with a TU (Walmart) Fico of 825. Hid starting credit limit is only 10k.

Scores aren't always based on your CL

Income? If not too personal...important data point.

Doubtful.

The way I look at is, I was not interested in this card yesterday so I SHOULD hold true to my long term plan. That is all I was saying to others as well.

Just stay true to your plan. If the bonus is good for you, bite. A high limit isn't enough for me.

Diners' Threads have kept me skeptical. I didn't app that either.

They will waive it. They waived my fee after 5 months on request.

You wouldn't take a 50K LINE right now with no AF?

Sorry for putting you on the spot

Nah. That was obviously a fiasco waiting to happen.

I'm going to assume this is more like NASA, until proven otherwise.

If you hadn't started this thread I'd still be months away form 100K in credit, at 10.7% util instead of 7.5%, and wouldn't have an upcoming $400 travel credit.
