I mashed the luv button today, because my account has been open a year. 3300 limit - 2k CLI. Looks like it was an AR or soft - no hard pull.

Has the Cap1 luv button been popping off quicker than six months? Don't get me wrong, I'm into romance and stuff, but I'd rather just get after it...

Not sure about after a successful CLI, but after a denial you can press the luv button again in a month or so.

They denied me because of insufficient use of card, so following month I maxed it out and quickly paid. Then pressed the luv button and got my 50% CLI.

Just another quick reminder: Capital One is NOT on crack, and almost no one is getting $50k limits, just like always.

Would you consider weed? :)

Although very few $50k's, I'm still impressed by $30k. At least for me, $30k is pretty good.

I don't know what they are on, but they did just give me a $10K VentureOne, then a $1K Plat. on Tuesday. Funny thing is my Pre-Approval for a GM Buypower was only for $750 (same day).

The venture is my highest limit yet, Discover being the next highest at $6500, followed up with J. Crew at $5000.

I fell for the temptation of a 50k limit and got a15k limit at 22.9!!! What a rip off. I have to meet 3k spending then never use it again

Cancel the card and tell them to keep their 500

Why exactly do you think they would have given you $50k?

30k sounded good too, so did 25k, hell 15k is great as it is my highest limit, but 22.9% is a joke

If you are playing the game right,

interest rates don't matter.

APR can be eleven million percent on any of my cards as far as I'm concerned. It would make no difference.

Now I understand.

Yeah, 22.9% sucks and not everybody can PIF, but I bet you can still make use of the card. It makes a good prybar to get higher limit cards. Grab the $450 signup bonus and PC it to a no AF card in a year. Just don't use it for anything that you can't PIF.

I always PIF but now I have 3 cards that need minimum spending in the next 3 months.

You need a good M$ plan.

There are others here who will probably have far better ideas, but for me the easiest and fastest way is just use a merchant account to run the cards with minimum spend. It can cost about 3%, but in the end I still get $360 net out of the deal.

Yea, this isn't a great idea if it is your own merchant account. Most merchant account agreements stipulate you can't run your own cards through, and doing so causes risk of closure. I have read a few threads of this happening.

Safer option is to either use the identified M$ methods, or in a pinch, you can paypal someone you trust the funds for a 2.9% fee and have them write you a check/give you cash (would not advise having them send the cash back via PayPal).

I think PP is more than 2.9%, but haven't checked lately.

Running your own card through your merchant account is a really bad idea, as you stated. There are ways around this, though, such as using a spouse's account or running an AU card.

All the hunting for pre-paid cards and seeing which one works with which debit card is, for me, a major pain in the rear. I'll leave that to folks who actually need a life.

does a paypal charge get billed as a cash advance?
