"Cap 1 is the Navy for civilian deadbeats."

That's funny.

And not necessarily accurate. Cap1 won't budge on my $750 CL Platinums. And they inherited an HSBC-backed card that had a $320 limit. They won't do anything with that card. No CLI, PC, zip, zilch, nada!

that is why I axed them... prime banks giveth and Cap1 wouldn't budge...

Approved for $30k @ 13.9%. Three existing Crap1 cards at $2750, $750, and $750, Scores in the mid to upper 600's.

This is where the rub is.

For well established credit profiles apping at this might not be the move.

For rebuilders, this might just what they're looking for.

IF we can get it. This approval surprised me looking at the limits of his other cards. Tried myself and was denied and I have 2 Cap1 cards both with $3K limits.

There's a difference between advocating and research. I'm not advocating. I just want to know if the slots are loose.

There are a lot of people here who could use a limit like this, with a moderately easy score threshold...

I posted about the limit I got on the V about 1&1/2 months ago.

I was approved for 30k at 13.9.

I did this stictly for the sign up bonus as we are planning a trip to Greece.

The DW did the same thing and got the same amount.

We both have very good incomes and spend quite a bit each month traveling for our jobs.

This was not the first "high" CL we had but it is the highest with C1.

Most others were/are around 10/24k.

congrats to all!

I am SERIOUSLY thinking that 30K is the real max limit -- until proven otherwise.

I think you are right... $30K is a serious starting limit for a new card. NFCU rarely, if ever gives above that to start and they are aggressive. Why would Cap1 do it? It makes no sense

What is odd is that there is all kinds of panic over on MyFreako about lots of CLD's coming out of Chase and a LOT of FR's coming out of AMEX. One thing I will say about Cap 1 is that my ex has had one of their cards for about 15 or 20 years now and when I hit the skids before BK7, he let me use it and max it out at 27K/27K. It had previously been maxed out and then paid off. I have paid it down to 10K from 27K. One thing I will say is even though this card has been maxed out, and stayed maxed out for years sometimes, they have never balance chased or jacked the interest rate. It is still at 15.9%. And when I maxed it out, I also got behind 60 days for 3 months on that account, and still they didn't balance chase. They also just gave him a new Venture card for 20K with 60 day lates reporting two years ago. 250K income.

Seems perfectly rational given the totality of the evidence on the table (there was apparently one earlier report of 50K at MF as well, but I didn't look it up).

Still, the recently reported Venture limits (especially when compared to scores/files) flies in the face of traditional CapOne thinking here at CB.

Income does have to factor... but you are right... C1 does not balance chase and does not seem to mind high UTL. Go figure... you spins the wheel you takes your chances...

That guy with the 6 Amie approvals in one day

Unreal.

I know. Not sure how that stuff flies over there.

At this point I'm calling this a gimmick, not a shoot.

Lizzy. Don't app it. I'm starting to think this is BAU for Cap1...

Seems the only thing that is fluff is the 50K claim. Others have been getting 10K to 30K limits for a few months now. Those who would have gotten $750 limits are getting 3K limits. Those who would have gotten 3K limits are getting 10K limits. And those who might have gotten 10K limits are getting 15K to 30K based on income and score. That is borne out.

If I just iced my exp this am, is that immediate? or does it take 24-48 hrs to kick in, think im gonna do the venture and report back

A $20k limit would allow my to close a couple others for sure that were already scheduled for march-april closure anyway, plus the dg's $10k

worked as thought based on info here, .

Hmm. I better take a second look at CPDB.

I really need 1-2 better cards so that I can get rid of Merrick & Credit One. But I know my profile isn't ready to apply for anything, so patience is the key. *sigh*

Yes, it's immediate. Give it an hour to be sure. You can log back in and confirm that it shows as frozen.
