So in reading some postings on "Brand B" credit forum, I have seen several reports the last couple of days of very large credit lines being handed out by Cap1. Saw one for 50K, one for 30K, and a few for 20K. It does appear that this is something beyond their usual practices ....

(And you Cap 1 haters, I know, I know ...)

I'm not going to read that thread, however if there's some kind of science doin', I'm ready to go!

Can we get a confirmation or two from CB members?

Science?

I was planning on unfreezing EX in the morning. So, I'm science ready.

That thread suggests Cap One is giving 10k+ limits to 660 FICO?

This is what I have been trying to say lately. You can f*ck around all day calling the EO to get your CLI from $300 to $700, or you can just apply for a new card.

Capital One: Denied CLI / Approved for $50K on New Card

I have two CapitalOne Cards that were open in early 2007 after my bankruptcy in August 2006. They were the first company to give me credit cards following the bankruptcy, the first one received a $3,500 limit and the second onereceived a $3,000 limit.

In 2013/2014, they upgraded me to their Quicksilver card so I could get cash back on my purchases. As my finances have drastically changes since then, I've attempted to request multiple limit increases, and I've kept getting denied because they say I don't use enough of my credit limit to justify a limit increases.

Then in December I just decided to apply for a CapitalOne Venture card for their 40,000 bonus miles, and was given a $50,000 credit limit.

Can someone explain how/why they won't increase my limit on a card with $3k limit, but will give me a new card with a $50,000 limit? I would rather have the limit on one of these older cards that's I've now had for 8 years.

DO NOT UNFREEZE Exp. for Cap 1. They will approve with just two CRA's!!

They approved me with just 1 CRA. It was TU

We recently did a whole gimmick and tested the single pull on TU for Cap1 products and we only saw one approval out of many attempts. I personally apped at Cap1 Venture with TU only (EQ and EX on ice) and was turned down because they couldn't pull the other two.

I think a single pull from Cap1 isn't going to happen for me and many others, unless they loosened the slots.

I just got the Venture last week but 'only' 10k. This has been since all the talk of higher limits.

I was not preapproved for anything on the site and had EX frozen....pulled TU and EQ.

Not a fan of Cap One

But, I'd be okay with 50k....

GP?

I couldn't help myself...

This is like a drug to me.

Getting weak.

Any reports locked?

Aahz did you do that app yourself, right now?

Yeah, that's my approval. Saw this thread, checked the reports on MyFico and went for it.

My highest existing was $24K. My other CapOne was just raised to 4K 3 months ago.

I have nothing frozen. WIll report back (and enter into CPDB) once MyFico realizes what I've done.

How's your credit profile

Scores in my sig....but I guess they don't show up on mobile. :-)

TU 728 and EQ 713 or so when I app'd.

80k income, handful of inqs, lots of new accts. 2 other cards with CapOne at 4k and 2k.

I've gotten a ~3× and a 2× CLI via the EO and I'm still only at $10k.

I've considered getting a new card, assuming that I'd get a much higher limit, but then I look at myself in the mirror and ask, "WTF would I do with another one of their sh1tty cards?"

I would love to see the results from some members with "high" FICO scores (over 740) and "high" incomes -- over 150K - 200K. I just want to see if that 50K can be replicated and if it is a ceiling.
