Second chance with issuer after settled charge off?

Recommended Posts

I've recently settled charged-off accounts with BofA, Chase, Citi, WF, and HSBC. Most of the blacklist information on this site seems to apply to people who have burned a creditor and never paid or settled, or included that creditor in bankruptcy.

Would anyone be willing to share their experience with similar situations? The only issuer that I know will give you a second chance for settling is Amex through their Optima program, but that does not apply to my case. Thanks!

I personally know you can get back in with the first 3.

But it will be a while.

The master blacklist thread has all the latest known info.

When you say "a while"...? How long do you mean?

My firm has a relationship with Citi for private banking and I'm thinking of waiting a couple of months and then trying to get back in with them that way.

Getting back for what? Credit card or normal banking? If it's for regular banking, burning them with CC has no bearing unless involved with CHEX. I burned BOA and I am still banking with them. If you need CC, you do not have to get back in with them. There are many other options...

A while is several years.

Your biggest issue is just the CO accounts on your credit.
