Hey Konrad - if you are okay with it, I think we should also include a list of cards that you should wait for and what the best offers were for that card in 2014 and when they appeared and disappeared (if known).

One example is the Citi AAdvantage Executive card for either the 75k or 100k offers. I'm expecting this one by June 2015; however, that's just a guess with nothing to back it up, yet.

This is a good comparison of current 0% BT and/or purchase offers. A little off the original topic but the comparison is easy to view in this format and might help some.

I think the AMEX Blue Cash Preferred is at the best offer you will see for 2015.

$100 cash back (statement credit) and a year of Amazon Prime for a $1k spend/ 3 months and only $75 AF

https://www304.americanexpress.com/credit-card/blue-cash-preferred?nc=yes&linknav=us-ccsg-cardshop-cm-viewallcards-learnmore

I think this should be your go to first AMEX card is you are not in with them yet.

The Chase British Airways 100k miles offer is another card that you could think about waiting for. I can't get in with Chase but if you can and are interested think about the 100k offer.

It seems like it pops up 2 times per year.

Nov 2012

June 2013

Nov 2013

Feb 2014

HUGE spend though, but you usually have a year to meet it but can drag it out if it takes you a while to meet it. If it takes a year, devaluation can be a real issue. If you use/have Avios don't forget about booking on partner airlines.

  • 50,000 Avios after $1000 spend
  • 25,000 additional Avios after $10,000 spend within the first year of account opening (75,000 total Avios)
  • 25,000 additional Avios after another $10,000 spend within the first year of account opening (100,000 total Avios)

*****

The regular 50k offer might be more attractive for some/many. $2k spend with waived $95 fee as Captivated mentioned earlier. That's a pretty good offer.

100k offer is really only good for big spenders.

First Premier Bank

Best card ever and the offer is good forever.

Biggest benefit: 529 credit score after $4,348,937.32 in fees.

Downside is that it only comes with half of the magnetic strip and a negative starting CL.

Replacement card is available on a payment plan of $900/month for 7 months.

Apply here: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Turd

I would wait on the Chase BA card. The above statement about 100k BA miles comes up quite offten. It is worth the wait.

The Hilton offer is okay but Hilton points seem to been down the drain lately.

I agree about the points. The main benefit of the Hilton card is the Gold status. Worth it if you stay at a hilton at least 2-3 nights/year.

That 100K offer for the BA card has a really high spend requirement. The last time it was tiered. 50K points after $2K spend. 25K points after $10K spend. 25K points at $20K spend.

For the additional 20K in spending, you're better off getting other cards and making enough spend for those bonuses

The second 50K miles is 2.5 miles per $1 spent. Show me how you're going to earn another 50K miles on $20K in spending on other cards.

If you can do this without changing your regular spending patterns, this is an excellent opportunity.

Using spend for other signup bonuses beats that. Particularly for points that can be transferred to BA.

If you're able to spend the extra 20K Yearly, that's one thing, but if you're only spending 20K total/year throughout all your cards, you're better off signing up to different cards and overall, you will be getting more miles or points...

The last BA 100K offer read like this.

You’ll need to spend $2,000 in the first three months to get the first 50,000 Avios. Then spend a total of $10,000 over the entire year to get an additional 25,000 Avios. Spend a total of $20,000 and you’ll receive a final 25,000 Avios. And with this card, each dollar spent on most purchases earns 1.25 Avios. That’s a total of 125,000 Avios for spending $20,000 over the course of the year.

$2k in 3 months then an additional $18k over a year. That is $1666 in monthly spending which will earn you a total of 125k BA miles. That isn't a lot of spending.
