I was able to locate an archived version of the Metro 2^® Credit Reporting Resource Guide from 2003 by the Consumer Data Industry Association (CDIA) on the wayback machine that I thought I'd share for others. This explains to creditors how they should be reporting credit information to Equifax, Experian, TransUnion, and Innovis.

Metro 2® Information

If your company furnishes consumer credit account data on a regular basis to credit reporting agencies, you have duties under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) to correct and update that consumer credit history information.

To assist data furnishers, (such as banks, credit unions, consumer credit card companies, retailers, and auto finance companies) in this process, the credit reporting industry has adopted a new standard electronic data reporting format called the Metro 2® Format.

Designed to foster the reporting of complete and accurate data to the credit reporting agencies, the Metro 2® Format also addresses FCRA compliance and Year 2000 issues.
