I never hear anyone talk about the Amex Offers that is the little tab on the bottom of your personal portal page.

The other day there was a $5 statement credit for a $30 Shell gas purchase on my biz Pt.

Today for my personal PRG there was a $25 statement credit for any $50+ purchase at Paul Martin's American Grill.

Definitely worth checking out every couple of weeks, they have some smoking deals.

I use these offers all the time. I've saved $220 on my SPG alone this year... plus I used the $50 off $250 promo code for allmodern.com at least 4 or 5 times before it expired. I check for new offers at least twice a week...

I'd tell you to check out the Paul Martin's, but I don't think they've made it to SD yet.

Paul Martin's is Paul Martin Fleming, the guy who started Fleming's Steakhouse, but he cannot use his last name anymore. Great food, great wine list, great happy hour

I have to wait for gas prices to go back up to use the Shell one. Ive had it loaded for weeks, but my last few full tanks were ~$27.

Ha, unintended consequences of plunging oil prices...

If you have like a 2-gallon gas can around, throw it in the hatch / trunk before your next fill-up.

The same offers work for both your card and your AU card, so if you don't have a AU get one. $30x2 for small business Saturday, $15x2 at amazon, etc

Guess I'll have to get my wife an AU card for my PRG...especially for the 2x's MRs for groceries.

if you are running up on the expiration date, just pour 3 dollars worth on the ground...you'll still save 2 bucks

I check these every so often

and have yet to find

a single offer I could use.

I would find myself just buying stuff to get the deal. I am happy ? to announce that my car won't even hold $30 in gas these days + Shell is expensive (at least around here).

This was last week, on the same day and across the street from each other:

That's crazy...oil companies are usually way more competitive than that disparity.

I bought Shell regular for 2.79 at Fashion Island. I've seen it for 2.49 at Arco. I would have had to drive out of my way several miles and paid debit. For the loss in mileage/time I wouldn't waste my time for 13 gallons.

That 5.99 diesel is the highest I've ever seen. Only in America is diesel more expensive than regular...let alone premium. And its the reason we don't see the awesome 1.6L to 2.0L diesel motors from Germany and Japan.

There's a Shell about 3 miles from that one that we got gas for $2.61

OP, sorry to continue off topic. I paid $1.83 for regular unleaded here in the warm and rainy Midwest yesterday.

midwest has the best gas prices.

Premium was $2.89 at the local San Diego Chevron yesterday - after the 20 cents/gallon Vons Club discount. I filled up at one of the more expensive places near my house.

We got gas at Shell for $2.41 with our .20 off from out Ralphs card. Filled up out Acadia for $42, where during the summer in Chicago it costs $90 to fill it up.
