Newbie.. wouldn't mind a few tips from the real pros.

Okay. So, in a rush, to my credit building started. I apped for a few cards, that I shouldn't have (Chase Freedom, Amex Everyday).. before I realized, I had to start from the bottom (Capital One & Discover).

 

I applied for Discover "It" for Students & Capital One Journey (both unsecured cards) and got approved. However.. upon looking over my credit reports, my idiocy in applying, and striking out over & over dinged my equifax quite a bit (in hard inquires). So, when I heard of the word "bumping" I practically did 10 cartwheels, and spent an hour jumping up & down.

 

Currently My Hard Pulls consist of this -

 

Transunion - 4

Experian - 3

Equifax - 6.

 

I'm a lot luckier than others, I understand that. But.. I still want to burn off a few of these Equifax hard pulls. I'd be happy with just one less, but, two would be amazing. I just don't completely understand the process. Is there anyone here, who would consider showing me the right direction, or, helping me understand the process itself?

 

Seeing that Equifax Number, just, kills me. And, I just wanna make it go away. If it's possible.

That number is not bad. Even though you might get that as a reason for the rejection the real reason is the lack of history. Read the thread that was posted and that will lay out what you need to do. I read the first 20 or so pages and then started from the very end and read backwards. The easiest to do is Transunion. With your limited history you should look at Barclays, they pull TU and if the HPS really pain you they are the easiest to get off your reports

Read the master b* thread, I think page 499. I too was in your shoes as far as curiosity goes with b*, but one should read as much info as they can before you just "dive" into it. Learn the song, it does really help.

 

When I joined this forum, is was soley because I found b* somehow, and was immediately interested. I too made a post similar to this, and got the same response I just gave you, except, I think they were a little hard on me .
