It won't do anything for your credit. Why pay interest?

As soon as you have 1 CC reporting, FICO ignores installment loans unless they're negative.

I guess I will find out soon! The interest was only $17. I think that is worth a postive tradeline on my credit plus I build rapport with the credit union and will try to refinance my car there in months to come

When they pulled my equifax credit it was 595. Credit Karma says my equifax is 566

Credit utilization does make a diffrence. When i maxed out my $300 secured card my credit drop 60 points, the day before my statement day ended I paid it off in full and used $40 and now my credit score jumped back up 67 points

Beggers can't 've choosers.....this person has limited options and the First Premier card probably is a card that shouldn't be kept long term anyway. Get a few crap cards, use them wisely (low utilization), and improve your credit scores. After a while, you can move on to bigger and better cards. Just my 2 cents....

wow... just wow.

im glad I got on the "credit cards pay ME, not me pay credit card" bandwagon pretty quick...

Im over here a year later counting my MR points, getting free tickets to Nitro Circus (tickmaster/AMEX)... paying off charges with cashback, planning travel... for FREE and so on. Not to mention signup bonus' and the like.

I don't understand the 5$ interest per month BUT he PIF before statement cuts?? wouldn't that atleast mean he wouldn't have any interest to pay??? Im still new... but I learn FAST, unlike some. Paying $135 a year for a card insane to me.... but reading some of these posts make me understand HOW the CC companies can give ppl like ME bonuses....

Thanks for the lesson, although... it wasn't the one you where preachin! LMAO!!!

I dont pay $135 a year, I wave been only charged $75 this year so far which was taking out my credi tlimit

Dont judge me right now it is the best i could do with my credit and the fact i dont have money for a security deposit and needed a card quick

Your correct, you wont pay $135... It appears you will pay $170 this year!! You have a one-time processing fee & and annual fee.

I saw many better suggestions so don't take it personal... but you are being judged. That's life.

This is the worst credit card I have ever seen. That's a fact. Make sure you pay on time at least.... that's a $38 fee. Also, PIF as its 36% interest.

Also, my last bit of advice is DO NOT ask for a CLI! It appears they charge 25% of the increase. So... if you ask or get a 1k$ increase, you owe them $250.

Im sure you know all this since you read the disclosures, but it needs to be pointed out for OTHER users.

Are creditors or potential creditors when i apply for credit able to see the credit utilization over the past months? For instance with the car card I had 110% utilization one month and it drop my score 60 points the next month I had 10 % utilization and my score jump back up 67 points.

Yea and? The $75 fee as i stated was taken from the available credit, the $95 fee i paid before I got the card

I paid late a lot just to prove what the bad things people say here wrong, they will waive the late fee when you pay and also they will process my debt card over the phone for free. i love 1st premiere and the customer service is excellent

Forget it Jay. Save your breath. Can't save every kitty in the pound.

Someone else will come along who wants to learn and you can use that opportunity to pay it forward.

What do you propose I do if I desperately need a credit card and I do not have any money for a secured card deposit?

Not apply for any cards.

If you can't park $500-1,000 for a secured card, the least of your worries should be credit cards.

  • 2 weeks later...

Welp I went to my local credit union and took out a secured loan. The loan lady /rep was a little too nosey. First she said it won't do anything for my credit then she proceeds to name off everything on my credit asking game personal questions. maybe it was apart of the loan process but i thought she was getting a little to personal

The loan is $500 for 2 years

Ok the loan started reporting a week or so ago and as of right now it has gave my credit score a boost of 7 points!
