Congrats!!! I really like having this card. It works for my travel needs.

Hilton automated email (to AMEX email address) received TODAY indicated upgrade to Gold status. That was fast!. I had just signed for the Card from the UPS driver literally minutes earlier lol.

Revolver is confirmed active with MSD 2014 and I immediately applied it to our upcoming Reservations.

So to recap, that's:

$2,020 spend (pre-tax) on upcoming Hilton Reservation (#1)

+ 12x Bonus Points (Card benefit)

+ 25% Gold Bonus (to Base Points)

+ Hilton Double Points Offer (Room Rate was slightly higher)

+ 500 Bonus Points (On-line Book & AMEX Payment)

$692 spend on Disney Reservation* (#2 and #3) x 2

+ 3x Bonus Points

* I think this earning method includes tax for the points calculation...

$119 spend on Embassy Reservation (#4)

+ 12x Bonus Points

+ 25% Gold Bonus

+ 500 Bonus Points (Book & Pay)

+ 80k Bonus. Will report back when it posts. We stay maybe 6 nights annually on average with the Hilton family of properties, so this is an Awesome deal! :good:

Sweet!! Strong work. Happy travels!!

Hello,

I'm interested in applying for this card, but I already have 1 personal and 3 business credit cards. Can I still apply for this without getting denied? If not, should I just go ahead and combine limits on my amex business cards and close the business cards and wait about a month and then apply? thanks for your help

You can have up to 4 revolvers between business and personal, if I'm not mistaken. You can have one of each of the charge cards.

So this would mean I would have to close one then apply right?

If they are all revolvers I think you may have to. At least you will gain age on the new one so you don't have to worry about losing account age. I'm not 100% about business cards being included so what until someone comes along with a for sure answer to that.

Edit: That is if you close the personal one (as far as the age). It's my understanding that AMEX business cards don't report to you personal credit.

Sure. I would double check with others though before you close any cards. I don't want to give you wrong info.

Would I be able to quickly accomplish $3000 by purchasing amex gift cards, or would gift card purchases not count towards $3000?

I would think it depends on where you buy them. Don't go too crazy and go out and buy an even $3k at a grocery store that will take credit cards for gift cards. If you do this, do it in several different odd amounts (like $573 or $385) so you don't jump off the page as a M$ spender. It can't be a part of your spending but be careful.

Also look through the offers on your amex account for spending opportunities. T-Mobile and At&T have a $10 back offers if you pay your bill with your Amex. I used it with my BCE this month and you can use it twice. Offers vary per card and person so you may or may not get it or you may find something that works better for you.

Also remember that gift card fees take away from the benefits of the points so factor that in too.

Costco sells those gift card packs ($79.99 for $100) for restaurants, movies and attractions if thats something you are in to. The savings on those makes it an even better value. I'm not 100% sure if you can buy those with credit cards but I believe you can.
