Newbie looking for help

Hello all! I'm excited to be a part of CB. I have been reading and reading and reading, and I'm ready to ask for help. Here's my story. I have a discharged Chapter 7 - DECEMBER 5, 2014!!! Yay me! TU and Exp scores are about the same (628). The site I use is down so I can't give the exact number of negative accounts reporting. My question is this. Where do I start? I feel so overwhelmed with all the info I've read in the PsychDoc transcripts and member posts, and I'm just not sure where to start. Will someone please give me some help?

 

My goal is home ownership. I'm not in a major rush and would like to do things as thoroughly as possible with as much informed help as possible.

Welcome! You'll be up and rebuilding in no time. Do you have your paper reports yet? Look through them and make sure everything is reporting as "included in bankruptcy" before you begin building new credit. Other than that, don't worry about the bk, it's all behind you, and you get a fresh start. Doesn't it feel good?

 

Then scroll down on the main page and find the bk forum. There is a list of bk-friendly creditors you can use to rebuild. Look at the dates, because you want to use the newest information. Lots of folks on CB have come back from bk very quickly, and I'm sure they'll chime in and tell you how they did it.

Look for any post by Ubercat. He has the phone numbers to call for paper reports in his siggy.

Keep all of your paperwork safely stored away in case a CA starts calling years from now.

Thanks everyone. Advice taken. Ordered Ex and Eq with no problem via the numbers listed by Ubercat. Couldn't get tu. Looked on CK and realized they don't have my current address. Should I print the report offered by CK or write in and request the paper copy? If I write in, they want verification of current address, previous address (at current address less than 2 years), current utility bill to verify current address, DOB, SS# and SS Card....

 

I know I read some posts about not giving them too much information. What's the minimum info I can give them to get my report?
