Hi all,

I have an account open with Portfolio Recovery Associates from 2012 that I have been disputing and I just noticed it's reporting as a revolving account but says it's collection in the comments with Equifax- is this allowed? The report says I have 0 accounts in collection so I know it's not registering as a collection but I didn't think CA could identify as a revolving account?

It's a small amount from Capital One that quite honestly, I don't remember being associated with. They offered me a settlement but I turned it down. I was going to attempt for a PFD but wanted to check if this is grounds for a dispute first.

PORTFOLIO RECOVERY A Company/Account Name: PORTFOLIO RECOVERY A Company Address/Phone: Riverside Commerce Center

Thanks all!

Hi funkiehouse.

This is from my free annual report from EQ.

The CA said there is no documentation attached to the account, all they could tell me was my name, the OC & the amount that's owed. I'm feeling a little stuck seeing they're making it impossible to get in touch with anyone at the CA. At first, they gave me someone else's personal information (SSN, DOB, address) when trying to identify "my" account...the company sounds like it's a mess!

Any ideas on what I should do to get rid of this?

Do you have any of this in writing?

I would consider filing a CFPB complaint.

Let's see what other people suggest as well before doing that.

Hi all,

Most of it has been done over the phone unfortunately so I don't have any physical documents. I did take down the employee ID of the woman I spoke with who gave me all of the information (and I have the other woman's information that they gave me) but that's about it.
