A foreclosure that was eliminated months ago is being reported on my CR by Ocwen. They foreclosed on me in 2008, but it was a countrywide loan back then. Ocwen must have purchased it. Since I have never had a loan with Ocwen I immediately wrote TU and EQ to remove it as I thought it was an error. When TU wrote me back that they confirmed it is mine, I called Ocwen. It is mine, but the dates being reported on my CR are all wrong. Any strategy suggestions on how I can remove this? Thanks.

you have an old credit report showing the correct information, you can upload that at the CRA's website dispute portals now , and the CRA has to send it on to the furnisher of information.

if that fails, file a complaint against the CRA and Ocwen.

if only that meant my mortgage was cancelled...

+1 I have Ocwen too and while they got me my 2% rate for the next 20 years I would love to see it cancelled!

So what would happen another company would take over I assume?! I just rather stay with Ocwen we've been doing real good here lately!

The portfolio of loans will sell. Either in bulk or parceled out by region or by quality.

Some hedgie might buy an existing servicer and capitalize it to handle the increase, or the pieces might go to smaller players. A trustee in bankruptcy might be the one to figure out how to get the most money for the carcass.

Oh okay well I'll be waiting to see who the lucky hedgie or company gets ahold of these loans....here we go! lol

Ocwen is about to go out of business. Things have been going wrong for them in NY and CA.

Too bad, so sad.

They settled with the state of California a few days ago... 2.5 million for not answering questions......

Under the terms of the agreement, in addition to the previously disclosed $2.5 million fine Ocwen must pay California, Ocwen is also prohibited from acquiring any additional mortgage servicing rights for loans in California until the CDBO is “satisfied that (Ocwen-subsidiary) Ocwen Loan Servicing can satisfactorily respond to the requests for information and documentation made in the course of a regulatory exam.”

Perhaps most importantly though, the settlement only covers Ocwen’s failure to provide the documents to the CDBO, not what the documents contain.
