There are all the success stories about new cards, with huge limits. Which is great and the reason we are here.

But how about those of you who really take pride in your ability to Garden.

I know I can't do it very well, but interested in those who can. I am interested in finding out what it takes to get near 850.

What types of AAOA and other factors it takes for the strong profiles sought after here on CB.

You should be proud of your willpower, and this is a thread to boast about that.

In the interest of science...What built your profile the way it is today?

This was the first post of the thread. It really wasn't about help gardening, more as it was about what gardening TL's does for scores.

At some point we all garden, no matter what ANYONE says.

If not, you end up like SCM.

It only appears that I'm "gardening" because I can't find any card with worthwhile sign up bonuses. If I could churn constantly, I'd be making a lot of buttah.

I've reached the point where a year of Amazon Prime is all it takes to tickle my trout.

I just received my promo code today, for mine

If you have D* Amex, you can app tons of crap, just keep churning the Amex.

I'm over just going after the big limit cards save a couple like Navy, BofA Amex etc I want to build.

Churning rewards cards is my focus, as the rewards are worth serious cash.

Im right there with you Konrad, my credit will work for me, soon.

Hence why I opened my first 4 Amex in 45 days, 96*.

I am JUST beginning.

I plan to churn more Amices than g-ma does butter.

Don't really care about bonuses as much as having them all, twice

That's what happens. You get to the poiny where you keep adding useless cards or you wait for the right opportunities to come along...aka gardening.

That's not gardening, that's an ambush.

And while people are waiting, they should be at FT spending tons of hours reading about how to use UR, MR, TY and all the miles programs to their benefit.

And mileage runs.

Lol, me too!

The problem is, I've just whored myself out to U-Verse for 1 year of AP .. so now Amex will be another on top of that...

Well, hang on, maybe that's not a problem ??

I think too many people don't have a rewards strategy. I'm trying to maximize every dollar I put through my cards to my benefit.

Look for a new thread from me about rewards strategies and I hope you'll give your input. :good:

And I'm also always thinking and coming up with strategies for higher limits through CLIs and combining limits. You don't want to sit still and do nothing for sure. If you aren't applying for more cards, there are other things to do.

I look forward to your thread!

I really wish we would have more discussion about rewards stuff here, on this site. I know there are other blogs and some feel this isn't the place for it .. but I think it is!

I will eagerly await the education. (And, yes, I do read over there, too. But if I only have, say, 1 hour a day to read (LOL! I'm on here more than an hour a day!), it's not going to be on those other sites. I'm HERE. And want to read about that stuff here, from people I know and trust.

I don't read FT as much as travel blogs, which makes keeping up with good CC signup bonuses easy.

Get a spending plan for your cards. That's the most important thing after signup bonuses. You want to maximize every dollar that gets put on a card.

There are people here way more knowledgable than me. My main point is to do your research and get the cards that will benefit you the most.

My favorite example is the CSP. It's a horrible cash back card. If you have no intention of using points for travel, get a 2% cash back card.

You guys have me energized! I'll try to get that thread going tomorrow. It will be more than just accumulating rewards. I'm thinking of other aspects like building a credit profile to sustain churning cards.

That may well be true ... but not many (perhaps none) are as committed to the board and getting the word out as you are. And you do it in such a nice way ... :)

Start the thread! I think there are lots of people here who could benefit.

Thanks!!

I want to have those little yellow triangular warning signs made up, that hang in car windows.

"I'd rather be app'ing"

If I could find a good enough reason, I'd unfreeze EX....

I really want to app right now. :dntknw:

Well, with a lull in the action. I should find some other things to do.

Could research some travel rewards.

What say you.....anything really in your plans?

Apping just for the sake of another card is ridiculous.

Get your rewards strategy down.

Research cards that you want and the historically high signup bonuses offered.

Work on CLIs.

That's what you should be doing at this point with the number of cards you now have. Don't overlook business cards. The Chase Ink Plus has been on my want list for a while.

I agree. I don't need to add cards.

I was seeking the excitement of applying and approval.

Wrong, I know.

I'm also in that mood...

I don't need or really want...

I just want to click on that submit button...

I'll app for someone else...

That 30 or so second wait is so thrilling to find out if approved and what the CL is.

Don't pass up a good signup bonus, but do your research so you know what you're waiting for.

This is also a good time to analyze your spending patterns against your AF cards to make sure you can justify the AFs.

I can't really justify most of my AF cards, but I'm keeping them at least until the 2 yr mark...

I got a lot of the cards for the bonus
