I've always heard 6 months prior... but you probably want to kick that time period off with the famous test mortgage application.

I didn't apply for the Marvel card and I was "this close" to applying for the AMEX Platinum offer

I am just about to hit the $20K and get 150K in MR on the biz plat... FINALLY.

It was so hard NOT to apply for the AMEX Plat. 100K pts just there for the taking. Luckily the offer only lasted like 1 day.

I have spent so much time worrying about it and creating ways to deal with it that I am almost happy that I was dissed for a spg biz.

 

I, of course, got the 150K MR, $10K spend for the first 100K MR, then $5K spend for the next 25K MR and then another $5K for the next $5K. I still have about $1800 to go which I can MS but I just finished off my new TD Aero card and hate to go through another bout next weekend, although I can. I now have to check the date on the amex spend as it may be near the end of June and I can relax for a bit.

 

I did not do a personal plat and that day may come but I was clearly insane to go for 7 new cards, 6 with spend. And none for Chase on which I am BL. I am weary of this and long for the day when it is over. Wait until you are very ready to do this. When I did DBF plat I bought a new car so that was easy. No such large purchases these days. Thank goodness for a new client.

Denied Amex Mercedes Platinum (75k) & regular Platinum (100k) & EDP (30k) because I guess they didn't like me that month

Denied Chase United business (50k) and personal (50k) under 5/24

 

Starting to feel calmer.

 

I will keep applying for that EDP (30k) offer every so often until they crack... otherwise I'm good for some hoe time.

New to this... I love this place! Here's my setup... credit one $450 1yo (I know I know), cap1 1 5mo old (got 500 cli for total of 800 limit) waiting for credit steps cli to kick in next month, chase freedom $500 3 mo old. Have 5 baddies most over 5yo, oldest 3 that I'm attempting to get removed. Any suggestions going forward? Not sure if I should do some more planting or garden. Thanks in advance. Really want a Sapphire and know I need to squeeze it in some how before I hit 5/24?

I'm thinking I should double app OBC and Blue for Business Plus... or maybe just the Old Blue

 

Over the long term I think I'd rather have OBC than Ink Preferred and their is always a chance that card will disappear...

 

That will push my 4/24 back to 14 months...

 

I can feel that app button itching in my veins...
