Interesting piece of CreditBoards Agronomy - just requested a CLI on my Amex from $26,100 to $29,900 - APPROVED!

Some discussion a while back suggested the 4506T cutoff line was $25K - it appears that is not the case. $30K or $35K the threshold where a 4506T is required? I guess I'll see in 181 days

Back in April I requested a CLI from $26,100 to $35,000 and was hit with a 4506T request.

$25K was never a hard cutoff, it just happened to be a figure where people started seeing the 4506-T more frequently. There are reports of people getting asked earlier, are some people are way over that and haven't gotten a request yet (CV for instance)

I have $35K revolving between personal and business, a plethora of charge cards both biz and personal, and I haven't heard a peep from them yet.

Interesting. You and CV have multiple Amices while I have only one Amex. Either of you have over $30K on a single Amex?

Yes CV does. I have a personal @ $25K and a biz SPG at $10K

I am also surprised they gave you any more credit after you declined their 4506-T request. I usually hear that failure to provide it basically means you get nothing more from AMEX both CLI and new cards.

I'm sure they will come after me either in August or Feb. I'm going for the 3x CLI on my Biz SPG in August to get it to $30K. Then depending on how the Costco thing plays out go with one of the following:

1. Going to app an EDP, go for the 3x's CLI, and then shift at least $20K off my Costco to the new personal revolver.

2. Shift $20K from the Costco personal to the biz SPG

3. My real hope is I can PC the Costco to an EDP. I've failed thus far.

Having a $25K-$50K EDP for M$ at 1.5 MR's/$ would be sweet. Having a $30K-$50K biz SPG for M$ and real biz spend would be sweet also. Having both would be epic.

Actually, I answered and submitted the 4506-T. I never received a response. Rather than shake the tree anymore I let it go and decided to try something for science.

Oh ok. So did you just ask for a $3,800 CLI to keep it under $30K? Or did they counter with that?

I purposely asked for $29,900 just to see if I would get the screen asking for the 4506-T. I wanted to see if I was topped out and any CLI would require a 4506-T or if perhaps $30K is the current threshold.

My SPG is at $49,500. It's our household card.

I have three other Amices at a whopping $5k each.

That reminds me... it's probably CLI time on one of those little guys.

I've been in the garden since early 2012, when I broke down and successfully apped for a Discover. No apps since then, just letting them age. Life got busy and I didn't have time to read every thread here, obsess over the next app, and hop on the bandwagon when others were getting amazing approvals.

I've been reading to catch up here the last few days, and decided to do a little APR reduction calling. Barclay was successful, dropping one card's APR by 4%. I did get transferred to another CSR, but no CLI offer. They offered to request one for a hard pull, but I declined.

JCP, however, said their shocking 26.99% cannot be lowered at this time by any cardholder. I am only carrying a very small balance, but this info made me decide to pay it off and close it in a year or so.

They hate me, dilligaf! I get zero, nada, zilch - tried it when all the crazy success was happening and no go! I've been carrying a low balance on it, think I'll pay it off, then start running 30% of limit through it each month, then PIF and see what happens. And, I just kinda sorta fell off the wagon and got a $10K Cap One Venture. Whoopsy. :P

It's been a little more than six months now since my last round of apps and decided to pull the trigger on a few cards for signup bonuses. All denied and all recons failed, due to an old CO I still have with BOA. Several members and I have recently reported that BOA started reporting these COs every month that makes the account looks more recent than it actually is. No matter how I explained the situation to the UWs, they won't bulge even when I tried to reallocate existing limits to the new cards I applied. I guess I will have to farm until this falls off in another year.

I have a little over $175k now since the beginning of my repair process, and now I'm just hoping this old BOA account won't trigger any AA with the cards I have now. We'll see.

I'm officially done applying for anything else . I'm just waiting on my 3x CLI for Amex in January and combine some Cap1's around the same time.

This statement is non binding and may change with high cashback offers.

I made sure my EX and EQ were frozen and applied for a chase IHG card hoping that they will pull TU at 800.

I got a 10-15, not really expecting to get it but that is how I got my first AmEx. Have no HI on TU but other scores reflect a baddie that is soon to be gone. I had not applied for a card in so long that it was strange, last Feb I think.

Go apply for the card I told you about last night. Same deal, keep EX and EQ frozen.

If either of these companies refuse to pull TU, then ask them to CANCEL the application, so it doesn't get coded as a denial in their systems

I think I'm about to the point where it's time to start gardening. It's been a really productive year for me in repairing my credit. I know I got a little carried away over the last few months but it was important to me to get these knocked out and growing over the next year.

I hope, anyway.

Kman, I have been cleaning out closets and cabinets today and have not even stepped out the door. I plan on stopping by TD tomorrow. As you can tell by what I sent you, I am certainly on it.. The application to chase was a random one a week ago re some sign on.

I do plan on hitting on that other issue most likely tomorrow.

I've been pretty patient this year, but after I close on my mortgage next week and then once the rest of my student loans drop off, this thread is going to be the opposite of my 2016 approach.
