Horrible APR at like 26.99 BUT a lot of providers do their own special financing.

Otherwise it's an easy util. cushion and fairly easy to keep active. (some vets participate too)

CLIs are TU hards though....against the grain vs. other Sync accounts.

Sounds like something to look at for the utilization alone. Might come in handy as a back up for procedures, esp dental were my insurance coverage is weak. But that hard pull for CLIs sucks.

Guess I should be thankful that if I ever left the farm, I'd come back hungry.

Although EX is now up to 669. One point away from a mental barrier and then hopefully I can hit 700 by end of the year.

Have some big expenses coming up though and utilization will be higher than I like, but that's only temporary.

BK is approaching 6 months at the end of this month (wow, can't believe that) so maybe I will see a boost then.

Back to minding the fields!

Breaking 670 is a nice once. It doesn't really mean anything, but in myFICO's summary, it moves you from "Deadbeat" to "Maybe you don't totally suck" :D

Amex now wants a 4506T for a CLI past my current level.

OK before I get flamed here - I went ahead and submitted it. I didn't "overstate" my income I actually understated by a little bit. DW is an AU on the account so I count hers in HHI.

There's absolutely nothing wrong in sending in a 4506T to Amex. I don't understand people who claim it as an intrusion of their privacy. If you put a lot of your spend on your Amex's, then Amex already knows far more about you from that than anyone could by looking at your tax returns. The only viable reasons I can think of for not sending in 4506T is that you got humongous raise last year and it's not reflected in latest tax return available via for 4506T.

How?

It's legitimate and I read the thread of how to do it and don't feel all that comfortable disputing like that.

Pretty much what I was thinking.

So out in the greenhouse I Discovered some green onions that seemed ready for picking. Seems the winter growing season in the greenhouse has done decent for me as I picked 1500 more onions for a total of 13K.

Nice discovery!

I don't really want to start a new thread, but this seems like the right place.

Is there any way to prompt invitations or prescreened offers?

For example, I applied for a Citi card a while back, but EX and EQ were frozen. They sent me a letter telling me why the application couldn't be processed.

A week or so later, I got an "invitation to apply" letter. The APR was the high number for the variable rates, so it looked like a legit prescreened offer and not a (100%)spam mailing.

I think freezing also opts you out. Then again I opted out from the CRAs years ago.

Those offers you get in mail don't mean d1ck. Read the creditpulls database and see what others in your category have applied for and received and research accordingly.

You do need to opt back in after freezing the CRA(s). It's the opt-in opt-out website and it looks absolutely ghetto but it is totally legit. It's not instant either, I just started getting offers via mail like a week ago and I did the opt-in site 2 months ago.

I don't completely agree that the mail offers are worthless. You can get targeted sign up bonuses via mail that aren't available from any online offer/application.

Must. Be. Strong.

I'm trying to hold out till Fall/Winter, but the travel rewards cards... are....calling...me....

I'm hopping the fence with the first new spring bonus to hit the interwebs.

In the meantime, I can be found over at the Master 2015 Credit Approvals Thread.

I'm the one with her face pressed against the glass like the dieter who stops at the bakery, but won't go in.

Me too. I'm trying to go all of 2015 with no new cards. That's why I get such joy out of Discovery increases.

I'm done for 2015. There is nothing more I want or need until I hit the 5 year post BK mark next March. The rest of the year is about CLI's, getting obsoletes off early and staying off the streets. Turning into a Comenity slut.

Yeah...I'm thinking the only two CBers dedicated to this cause (back when it was known as Kona) was Kona and Shawnee....

I read some of Kona's old posts. Ever come around?
