It changes the app, rinse, repeat cycle I love so much. Now I need to enjoy simpler, wholesome pleasures like booze and PONIES.

This is a farm-where are the ponies???

Nahh, It was worth the whole $7 cash I have in my wallet. Hopefully she doesn't spend it all in one place.

I'm obviously not privy to your file, but...

If a secured card is your only avenue with NavyFed it might be worth it. You have to think beyond tomorrow and check the ego at the door

Don't you realize that crossing the debauchery between posts is BAD...?! :o

It's like crossing Ghostbusters streams. :(

I'm on the farm until summer. Had a nice harvest of CLIs yesterday with my BOA Royal Caribbean card going from $5K to $15K (card was opened in January). Also did some weeding by ditching something I stupidly applied for, didn't use and had a crap limit.

Give some more details on your profile. I was approved with all of those issuers with sub 700 FICOs but a strong profile since rebuilding.

Agreed, I had a 680 something FICO on EX when Chase and Amex approved me.

I just did a careful review when the three cra FICO scores went over 800.

1 OD LOC, 4 CC Revolvers, 1 Charge card.

AAOA 4.1y (First account was a small OD line Union bank tacked on a checking account without my knowledge. it was my only LOC at the time)

Oldest Account: Exactly 6y. There was roughly a 20 point step function in my scores when I hit 6y.

Scores ranged from 801 to 809.

Very nice harvest! Well done!

Luckily for me I've been on the farm technically for 7 years because I had just given up on credit. I just stopped applying a long time ago.

I started messing around with rebuilding my credit with some secured cards the last 3 years really. Cleaning up my credit.....more like 5 years ago.

Thanks to CB. It opened doors for me to build off the small secured card foundation I had created for myself. When I left the farm it was for a city called TU. That's where I met my seeds SYNCB, Barclay and NFCU.

The rest became history. I was hoping for $500 limits 2+ years ago. Today I would've never thought that I'd have 25k limits and Amex cc's. I am glad to learn what I did, at the time that I did. Credit is a science. If you do not understand the science, you can get hurt. I am glad I was taking these science courses the last 2+ years because if I didn't, I might've had 20 INQ's across the board and no credit on all 3 CRA's.

Today all I have in INQ's in the last 2 years are: EQ and EX, I only have 2 INQ's on each. TU was at 0, now 10.

and to top it all off, 2015 will be the year my credit turns clean across the board. I have no intentions on applying unless it's a sure shot. I will try to aim for 2 for 1 deals when going for new credit and CLI's, just to keep the INQ's low.

In the coming weeks when my D* shows up, I will do my final round of applying and CLI's and after that I will stay in the farm and focus on growing my SYNCB cc's.

As always, thanks CB.

(and let's be a little positive on the B*, time will tell)

Where did you get that 719 from, are you sure it's a FICO and not a FAKO? And is it your Experian FICO (AmEx only looks at Experian)? Have you defaulted on an AmEx account in the past (AmEx will blacklist you)?

Other than being blacklisted, I'm having trouble imaging a scenario where you could have a legitimate 719 EX FICO, and have AmEx decline you.

If you've got a thin file, or are otherwise in need of rebuilding, a Navy secured card is an excellent tool to jump start your accounts. It "graduates" (unsecures after X-months), and it reports as a regular card. I hadn't had an open account in 5 years, and had FICOs in the low 600's. I started with a $5k NFCU secured card; 3 months later Navy approved a $10k unsecured card (with FICOs then at 625-645). A month later, I was appoved for 2 AmEx's.

That's what the American Express denial letter said. I do have a thin file but I charge high amounts but am reimbursed for all my travel expenses. I have BofA 5k, wells Fargo 5k and cap1 qs that went form 300 to 3300
