They graduated my card and gave me a CLI from 3K to 6K in early August based on (according to analyst) banking and payment history. Still had baddies, tax liens and judgments showing on TU.

Late October they counted my CLI request to 10K. The 6 year old 120day late mortgage baddie wasn't mentioned, nor the 1 remaining 5 yr old paid tax lien. They denied me the full 15K based on my 7 new accounts from mid-August thru Ocotber.

They will get a call again Jan 2nd and I will ask the analyst for 25K.

I don't bother with luv buttons or front line CSR's for CLI's with BofA. I call straight to the analyst.

Some new (old) Amex reporting. My Barclays US Air @ $20k reporting. Haven't called BofA for 80 days.

Just got a 100% CLI to $20k in 4 minutes from the analyst. TU pull @ 738

Couldn't grant me the $30K I asked for due to limited use on the card lately. And guess what, it isn't going to get used too much in the future either. 2% cash back on groceries isn't worth as much as 2 MR points on groceries. And the 1% on everything else isn't worth as much as an MR point, UR point or US Air mile. Probably won't bother them for another CLI for a while.

I need to do this soon, too. Can you define limited use? General terms would be fine. :)

Some useful info regarding BofA and PC's.

I had the 1 2 3 Cash Rewards. Did a PC to the Privileges Cash Reward. Essentially makes it a 1.5/3/4.5 card.

Privileges has a $75 AF, unless you have $50k in deposits with BofA.

However, since I did a PC from the 1 2 3 to Privileges, I managed to keep the original terms of my card.

No AF since I did the PC vs an app for Privileges.

My annual mark is this month. Confirmed there's no AF... And I definitely do not have $50k in deposits with BofA.

I had never even heard of this card until you just posted it. And it doesn't appear on their website. I did find it in a google search.

I already get the same benefits with my 3-2-1 rewards with the Merrill preferred thingy. I wonder if I can get the extra 50% on top of the extra 50%? I doubt it...but now I science call is in order.

BUT, this black card looks WAY cooler than my standard 3-2-1 so PC I shall even if I don't get the double down bonus

Bank-of-America-BankAmericard-Privileges

I have this card. With $100,000+ in deposits there is a 75% bonus on the 3-2-1 rewards structure and the AF is waived. This is our household card for places that don't take Amex.

How much do you have deposited with them? Obviously over 100K ...

$500-$1000/mo. Was in China from late Oct-mid Dec and it got a $180 plane ticket during that time.

In comparison, since mid Dec I've put 17k though US Air, 8k-10k through PRG, 3k through Disco, and 3k-4k through Freedom. And 2k or 3k through Costco.

no reason to waste your time with BofA CLIs at this point.it can be hard to get them to go over that level without showing use.just apply for a new card and combine.

Pretty much how I took the conversation.

There are just too many other cards from other issuers with great sign-up bonuses to app any new BofA products for a while.

Good heads up thread, I never bother looking at the splash screens upon log out so I wasn't taking advantage of privileges bonus, easy click a button, agree to terms and done. I'm going to dig into Merrill IRA this weekend and rollover some $ from Scottrade Monday to bump up to the next bonus level for privileges and collect a new Merrill account bonus👍.

My DW tried to recon the initial $5k limit on her Alaska Air but they wouldn't budge..

Hit the luv button and it went instantly to $10k. (Requested $20k)

She was able to get her Fidelity upped to $10k to start from $5k using her CSP as a prybar. Guess in hindsight she should have asked them to match the $25k.

I combined 2 Barclays cards last week (15k and 5k) to make a 20k US Air. The new limit hit TU last night. That's what BofA matched today.

Now I have to assault EQ for PenFed, DCU and Navy to step it up.

Navy is known to comply under simple battery. Often there's no assault needed.

I want that Fidelity AMEX - mainly to have the money go directly into my IRA (which is at Fidelity).

Since I just opened two BOA cards in the last week - apping for a new one right now isn't probably a good idea. I'll give it a few months. By then, maybe they'll match my $10K limit from DCU.

Maybe I'm strange but I think the Royal Caribbean card is worth it - IF you're a cruise addict like I am. (I've done 4 RCL cruises in 13 months). The double points when you pay for anything on Royal/Celebrity and bonus points for OBC make it worth it for me. Otherwise, I'd stick to their cash cards

With a BofA (Credit, debit, maybe even prepaid) or Merrill Lynch card, you automatically get free general admission to over 150 museums nationwide on the first full weekend of every month. This link lists the establishments by state.

NOTE: The admission is only good for the cardholder so everyone including the kids needs to have a card.

http://museums.bankofamerica.com/pdf/MOU_Participant_Roster.pdf

I am about to try this out today with 2 adults and 2 kids. That's right, the 3 year old has a debit card.

In my opinion I would get this card just for this benefit!

Has anyone PC'd a BofA 3-2-1 Rewards to an FIA AMEX lately?

I'm not looking for anymore new accounts, so I don't want to just apply for one, but I'm sitting on a $20K limit that's fairly worthless to me otherwise.

I PCd my AAA Travel Rewards to Cash Rewards because of the new card design this morning. :P

I wish I have that credit limit with them!

But the AAA is 2% unlimited on groceries and drugstores. Cash Rewards has caps.

I have other cards I use for groceries and drugstores. BOA card has been sockdrawered since Feb. I, at least, would like to see something pretty when I open my drawer. :P

Also, I noticed they did a HP on TU for the product change. I had to call BOA this morning since nothing about credit inquiry was mentioned yesterday. In fact, the only thing CSR mentioned was I was approved and I will just have to wait for the new card.

Weren't you the one telling me you had a Victoria's Secret Black Card? You should have drawers full of something pretty ;)

BofA will definitely hard pull for a PC. And they will report the card immediately to all three CRA's. I have PC's the card in the past. I actually tried to PC the card to a AAA and they said you cannot PC to an Affinity card (AAA, MLB, Susan Komen)

The Travel Rewards is 1.5% unlimited. If you have at least $100K with BOA, it becomes 2.62% back.

So here is an interesting observation that directly pertains to BofA. This has to do with the secured cash rewards card, and probably the unsecured rewards card as well, but I don't have that one so I cannot be sure.

I noticed that last quarter I received bonus CB (the 2% grocery and 3% gas) beyond the $1,500 quarterly limit. How did this happen? I charged my card with gas/grocery purchases up to about $1,300. Next, I went to a Target that codes as grocery and made a $1,000 purchase. This brought my bonus spend up to $2,300. What was odd was that I was credited for the full $1,000 Target purchase at a 2% rate thus increasing my bonus CB above the quarterly $1,500 limit.

Maybe BofA can't chop the transaction down and only credit a partial? Maybe they can but it requires a manual review? Who knows?

If this process does work, I would think it would be possible to get shutdown for consistently abusing this method. I will report back after I give it another go (But this time I am going to charge less than $700 over).

I'm looking for some advice on my Fidelity Amex.

Opened 11/1/14 with $15K CL

CLI today to $25K with TU 756

I had asked for $35K, and they said they could only go to $25K at this time because the account is only 6 months old.

1. Is it possible to get to $35K with $1-2K per month usage? I don't see myself putting more than that on the card.

2. How long should I wait before requesting another CLI?

3. Have I reached the point where I should just open a second card?

My plan had been to get it to $35K before going for another card. I'm just wondering if I need to change my plan.

I was told by Shifter in this thread and others via PM's that it would be challenging to get BofA to exceed the $20K-$25K range without some serious usage.

I need to PC my BofA 3-2-1 to the FIA Amex...still haven't done it yet.

I think I'm going to wait for NFCU and someone else to break my $25K ceiling, then max it out with M$ one month, PIF and hit them up to match or exceed my highest limit at that time.

Another way would be to churn Alaska Air cards...either personal or especially if you could get BofA to shift biz credit limit to personal (which I have not researched yet). They hand out Alaska cards like tic tacs.
