In the interest of science, I do not have a CK SV or any other product with BofA.

Neither do I.

No doubt. There are a few threads that highlight free luv for some, prison luv for others via BofA.

They graduated my card and gave me a CLI from 3K to 6K in early August based on (according to analyst) banking and payment history. Still had baddies, tax liens and judgments showing on TU.

Late October they counted my CLI request to 10K. The 6 year old 120day late mortgage baddie wasn't mentioned, nor the 1 remaining 5 yr old paid tax lien. They denied me the full 15K based on my 7 new accounts from mid-August thru Ocotber.

They will get a call again Jan 2nd and I will ask the analyst for 25K.

I don't bother with luv buttons or front line CSR's for CLI's with BofA. I call straight to the analyst.

Hahaha. When I just saw my wiki resurrected to the top I was like "Sweet, maybe the post actually helped somebody!" Ummm no.

What exactly is your baddie? What is your TU score that they gave you with your denial? Did you speak to a CSR or did you call the analyst department at the numbers provided?

Do you have a banking relationship with them?

How many TU pulls do you have? You know for $9.95/month TU pulls don't seem to matter very much...

Sorry.. lol!!

I've had BOA savings & checking since 2008 -recently closed the checking but kept the savings for my 123 cash rewarrds

The baddie is an $860 CA from Independent Recovery Service for a storage company

I've escalated all the way to the office of the president .. they offered to remove the inqs but no graduation

I've nerver gotten my fico...fako is 654

First, you should have gotten the FICO from your denial letter, and they'll give it to you over the phone.

Did you actually call and talk to the analyst department? Maybe a < 3yr unpaid baddy is a no go from them?

You probably should have kept the checking open in a minimal amount.

It sounds like this would be one of your oldest open revolvers, so don't give up on it. And that's not I love BofA advice, just advice.

SC is for TU B*. It can be had for $9.95/month. But that's for a whole nother thread.

Which is the ONLY reason i've kept it open! I've always spoken to the secured card dept...the only reason i've escalated it was because the last review i initiated in October , the rep told me if i would have called 3 months ago i would have been approved - yet every denial letter i got said We’ll continue to periodically review your account to determine if the account is eligible for an upgrade to an unsecured card. You’ll be notified in writing if your account becomes eligible in the future.” What the hell was the difference between october & 3 months prior ? What exactly are the unsecured requirements ? the majority of my HP are from BOA and within weeks of each other...why?? not one rep could answer... :dntknw:

as for B*....with my luck I'll for sure be on every ones choppage list :aggressive:

What was the CL they gave you?

What's your highest reporting limit?

$2500. Highest CL 15.2K. At the time it was 10K highest line(CU).

Did you recon?

At the time of approval, my highest limit was $19K and my highest non-CU/store card limit was my CSP at $12K. They agreed to match a $15K limit I have to start.

Maybe they don't like some people, but I thought with the number of student loan baddies I still have, the unpaid charge off with them and no other relationship with them that the starting limit was very generous.

Oh Yes. Recon was bleeding. Looking at pulls and judging by others experience, YMMV with BofA. I established a relationship.

The only way to do it. 100% correct.

ALWAYS call BofA. If you have any doubts, call. They're old-school like that.

This is good to know. I've been getting frustrated by this line as it drags everything else down. I'm sure I'm not the only one in this boat. Thanks for the info.

BofA really should be a CB-favored bank; up there with Amex.

There are plenty of things I like about BOA, but they aren't even close to Amex, Chase and Citi IMO when it comes to travel rewards cards.

I'm pretty sure Uber was referring to the fact that they only pull a single CRA, and in most cases you can choose which CRA. And they have credit lines up to 100K. And you can hit them up for CLI's regularly and just send the related INQ's to the TU graveyard. They are very friendly in those respects.

BofA has some good cash rewards offerings, but their travel rewards cards obviously aren't worth bothering with.

I agree. I got the Fidelity Amex because IMO it's the best of the 2% cash back cards and for the ability to build a high limit. I love how flexible they are when pulling credit, and they were friendly, honest and generous when I was discussing my reports and the limit.

And there isn't really C* on TU.

That's another beauty of BofA. You can pick your CRA to pull, and they'll pull TU which is easy to B* and easy to clean up.

Just to clarify, when you say BofA allows you to pick the CRA to pull, are we assuming the other 2 must be frozen? Or upon phone app are you requesting "Please pull my TU for this application/cli"?

Some useful info regarding BofA and PC's.

I had the 1 2 3 Cash Rewards. Did a PC to the Privileges Cash Reward. Essentially makes it a 1.5/3/4.5 card.

Privileges has a $75 AF, unless you have $50k in deposits with BofA.

However, since I did a PC from the 1 2 3 to Privileges, I managed to keep the original terms of my card.

No AF since I did the PC vs an app for Privileges.

My annual mark is this month. Confirmed there's no AF... And I definitely do not have $50k in deposits with BofA.

I had never even heard of this card until you just posted it. And it doesn't appear on their website. I did find it in a google search.

I already get the same benefits with my 3-2-1 rewards with the Merrill preferred thingy. I wonder if I can get the extra 50% on top of the extra 50%? I doubt it...but now I science call is in order.

BUT, this black card looks WAY cooler than my standard 3-2-1 so PC I shall even if I don't get the double down bonus
