Anybody else on Barclay's BL (blacklist)?

So I'm about 1 year post discharge Ch. 7. I'm now back in with Synch and Cap 1 but apparently I'm on Barclay's blacklist. I burned them for only like $800 on an Apple card, probably the smallest amount on my filing matrix. (I wanted to pay them but of course the attorney said no.

What is odd is that when I applied with them in August, I got a HP on TU and got denied. I think it listed BK as the reason.

Now this month I apply again and there is no HP at all and someone else on CB said they had the same thing and it means you're on BL. That cool. I appreciate not getting a HP if it's an automatic decline at this point.

I sort of thought Barclay's was like Cap 1 where they only stay mad at you for like 30 seconds.

Can anyone give me an idea of how long they were locked out of Barclay's following IIB them? I realize the whole YMMV thing. I'm just curious. I assume this isn't going to be like Chase or AMEX (10 years to forever).

I hope to get a Sallie Mae eventually and maybe some other CL's so I can combine and get another higher limit card.

Anyone?

Just an FYI- if you app within a certain amount of time- they can often decline because you have a pull with them already. They told me it was to avoid "accidental multiple clicks"- just call the bd and they will see the decline app, usually ask if they can pull your credit because it didn't.. la la la.

I didn't have an IIB but I did have a $7k charge off with them. I was on their list for about 8 years. Talked to an underwriter and that was his only reason for denying me a card.

Got some other cards tho and after about 3 or 4 months I tried again and was approved for $7500. Go figure.

I IIB Barclays around 12 years ago. i was able to get a card about 2 years post BK, and worked it to a $40K card with them. That being said, I just applied for the US airways card a few weeks back and was denied instantly for previous bad account. Called the back door and they wouldn't extend more credit, but was able to move the $40k line to the US airways and get it open so I can get the signup bonus.

If you are declined for Barc, you should always call backdoor for recon. They will approve many times, and when they don't generally will give you a good idea of what you need to do for approval in the future.

I had an almost identical situation. I had a $1500 charge-off in 2008, which was sold to a JDB in 2010, so no money on the books owed to Barclays. Approved for a $1500 Rewards card -- instant -- in September 2014. TU FICO 08 686. Applied for the US Airways card January 2015, instant decline. No credit inquiry -- just an automatic reject for having a previous C/O. Why on earth I'm instantly approved and not blacklisted in Sept. 2014 but all of a sudden blacklisted in Jan. 2015 -- after 6 months positive history on the new account, mind you -- makes zero sense to me. I will call backdoor tomorrow and see if we can't come to a reasonable answer.

Please report back on your success. Barclays is kind of my hope for the next few years if I can get off the BL. Grrrr.
