So, coming up on about 1 year of account history for a Credit One (yeah I know)

and a First Progress secured card. Both have annual fee's, and I feel at this point

I'm well in the right direction with about 35-40k in lines.

Time to close them before the new year hits?

What say ye!

Also got a True Value card from comenity that had 1 charge put on it and nothing

else, i got it cause I have a True Value close to me, but when I went to use the card

they said they don't accept their own credit card there.

So, its practically no use to me. There's no AF on that one, leave it alone and wait

till they close it, or do that one also while I'm at it?

It's kinda, sorta incumbent upon them to accept their own card, perhaps they were having technical difficulties or sumthin' when you tried...could always call to look a bit further into it, they may be able to provide some feedback. Then again, am not a fan of closing good accounts for random reasons.

There is no "them," per se.

"Members of the True Value cooperative own their individual stores and operate independently of True Value Company."

This one does not though, yes I know, its very odd. The look of confusion on my face when the guy I've

done business with on a first name basis with for 20 years, said that he couldn't accept it, cause he isn't

signed up to accept it says that.

True Value stores are not a chain, they just use the name and the buying power of TV as a pass through

apparently.

With that said yes, I have about 19 positive TL's, with 17 of them open and currently reporting. So the loss

of them is not an issue. I have 4 accounts with over 5,000 CL's, and I'm getting CLI's every 1-2 months from

random cards on a rotation it seems, so I just see them as a headache and unnecessary costs now.

Consider it done Monday.

Thanks for your guys thoughts on it.

At this point, my only 2 future goals are a new car, and possibly a mortgage in 2016. But I like where I rent

and don't see the immediate need to move, so I might just stay here till something changes.

nah...I was just wondering if others find it as hard to pull the death ray trigger on cards and I do.

this response, however, is to pad my post count
