My wife has an outstanding account with Emergency Phys that has been turned over to Gold Key credit. The total ballance is $195 in which I am willing to pay. I called Gold Key, they told me that I could pay them and then they would ask a superviser if I could have a PFD. I refused. I then called Emergency Phys and tried to pay them they wont take my payment. According to Whychat you have to pay the OC if the OC will not accept the money how do you make this work?

If you follow the program step by step you will get to the point where you can pay the OC.

You must however, go through several steps first in order to FORCE the OC to accept the payment and PREVENT the reporting CA from changing the account to a "paid" collection, which is actually WORSE for your credit than an unpaid one because while it is still derogatory-- it is NEWER.

Follow the guides:

If you have opted out and deleted old addresses ( if you have moved since the date of service) you can then send the initial dispute letter to the CRAs

Depending on the results from that there are several other steps to take, including perhaps a direct payment to the OC.

You must remember, however that not all medical accounts being reported by a CA were assigned to the CA by the OC, some are obtained from data miners, some are the result of billing errors and some are left over balances after insurance has paid.

Was your wife covered with any insurance for this medical visit?? What was the date of her medical service?? If she WAS insured, does she have her EOMB ( explanation of medical benefits) from her insurance??

When you have completed the first steps, come back to this post for additional assistance.
