Hi, I may have just found a loophole in my pr section. A paid judgement with a first name that is similar to mine but is not my name. Problem is it is a joint with my husband. Now I am trying to figure out the correct way to go about this. It's been disputed before but not with the name issue. Any suggestions on how to work this out? I talked to the special department at equifax and they were puzzled but disputed it anyway..

Well, disputing it with that letter hurts nothing. Since it's paid especially. The worst that could happen is they verify it. I have had no problems with this letter. Just deletions.

And, your best bet is not to talk to them anymore.

PR's on EQ are easily disputed, online. As someone with similar name...which in your case is true. I would send the letter to the other two CRA's. if it reports on those.

It is not YOUR responsibility to report these things correctly, it is theirs. And they are not obviously.

This judgment has been deleted on two reports, waiting for them to do my husband's and then my transition. Who hoo. Now only 6 more to go lol sigh. One day at a time on judgment at a time I guess.

No, just called and asked where to fax my paperwork, but they said they are disputing it anyway. It has only been a couple of days and I looked through the back door and it is gone.
