Sorry I am not trying to stir the pot and I don't need an emergency puller (I have never been subject to c), but I'm sure my post count would be over 1,000 if I replied "congrats" every time someone posted they were approved for a new card.

Thank you for finding this though and even offering it to others...

Exactly. Most threads are half full of congrats or something of the like. I get on prob 5 times a day and more when I first started but only post when I have question or have something useful to add. Plus a post count can be manipulated by just posting more irrelevant posts as years can not be. And what if someone joined a few months ago and most of there posts don't amount to anything but they are over 500, are they going to disqualified for there post count not having enough quality? I don't need emergency puller either. Just think if someone joined 6 years ago and I knew something that could help them out, I would feel comfortable letting them in. But it's not my choice so this is just an opinion.

Member here since 2011 I think you probably had a malfunction of your post counter.

I have no problem with this criteria. Back in my waiting tables/bartending days, me and some of my coworkers used to frequent this one bar after work. They were always running this contest called "Bar Wars." This contest added up the tabs from the employees from each outside establishment and added them up over the month. All employees from each place were considered a "team." At the end of the month the team with the highest accrued tabs won a free bar tab around $500 if I remember correctly. There were usually 6-8 of us from our restaurant who were the regulars and the ones spending the money to win this tab. When we did win it (which was frequently) other employees who rarely contributed--if at all--would show up to redeem the winnings. This would lemonade off the regulars to no end since they were only there to get their free drinks the others earned.

This criteria makes sense to me.

My opinion, FWIW. Date joined would be a better way to judge. Not everyone has the time to stay on here, get what they need, maybe post an answer or two where it's needed, but don't live here or stay on for hours at a time. Someone who joined in 2003 and is still posting, is a founding member of the first degree. People have jobs, families, service members are often deployed for extended lengths of time and their MOS or their duty station does not give them time on a computer.

I know if I see the official IP address or email addy of a service member, I jump the hoops for them and let them post without waiting for moderation. Post count means something in many instances but itisn't an indication of reliability or caring.

I have over 500 posts and signed up in 2007. But that's all I did. Signed up on a whim and never posted and never lurked. Didn't find my way back until Aug this year and made my first post. Don't need a puller cause I have Amex, but even if I did, I don't feel that I deserve it since I've really only been active for a month.

+1000

And I just increased my post count!

I have an Amex, too (2!) and no need for this (also because I'm not a b*er) but ...

my thoughts (lol! if anyone cares) are that this is being shared out of the goodness of someone's heart. They don't have to share it *at all*.

Any criteria that are being imposed on the dispersion of this info is A-OK by me.

Maybe, but there is the issue of trust here, not to mention the fact that I am not sharing MY information.

Remember, post count is just one of the criteria. The second criteria is a big one.

OK, that's it for this month. I'll bump this thread next month and share the information with more people.

Just a reminder, we are talking about a single pull per month that counts towards EQ B*. Menta33 found something that can accomplish this for people blacklisted by Amex. He was not obligated to share this information, but has been generous enough to share it with a limited number of people each month. He doesn't want this to get shut down from abuse or this method going public.

Thanks again, Menta33, for sharing your discovery and not keeping it to yourself!

I have been member for 6+ years. I visit this site a couple times per day. I just don't post alot...

I must not be trustworthy either.

To his/her credit, I did see Fitzhume contributing after posting in this thread. :good:

Criteria:

*More than 500 posts

*We know and trust you

*You can't get an Amex (including AU)

Should have added "...and been on the boards for 7 years." If it's good enough for derogatory info to fall off...

This is a perk for active members that regularly contribute here. It's fine to be a long term lurker, but lurkers are consumers only and not regular contributors.

I don't need a puller, so no interest there. I just laughed at the contributions part. Those who have been here only a couple of years missed out on what truly helpful and friendly contributions actually were like.

People who contribute here regularly are generally very helpful. I just find it odd that so many lurkers feel entitled to everything when they never give anything back. I try myself to be helpful and share what I have learned here. I saw similar threads to this one when I was a newbie and expected nothing.

I'm not going to bother acknowledging any more of the "entitled posts."

Def agree there are lots of ppl that come on and want explanations instead of doing research(obviously newer members). I try to chime in when it's helpful, the problem is a lot of times that help is just explaining things I learned and can be learned thru research. So I don't post. I see both points of view and if you got the info then choose whoever u want.

Nothing personal, and you do have more than 500 posts now and I have seen you post here before, so I would send it to you if you needed it.

I was just trying to put in perspective what people are arguing about. We are talking about a single EQ soft inquiry that counts towards B*. These emergency pulls can and have been shut down, and the member that makes the discovery is free to divulge the information as they see fit.

Instead of creating a thread about this, the information could have very easily remained private. It was very generous to share this information with others, and again, the limitations are to try to keep this from getting shut down.

Yeah. It's a pretty nice thing you did. I mean, over the entire life of this thing you'll be saving people a lot of money.

Salud!

it's only good for one per month.

hence,

emergency.

All this fuss over one pull .

This would cause mass chaos if it were a daily puller.

Wait a min.....am I the only one curious what the going rate err criteria would be if this was a weekly or daily puller that counted?

Probably the same.

God forbid we actually try and do this in a way that keeps it active.

I had no problems freely sharing about the last daily puller and that breaking news thread only barely made it to 6 pages total. But you can believe there were 100's of thousands of people all over that! And I would share again in a heartbeat if I found another daily puller!

I guess people can not handle it when they are told this deal does not apply for you, so no you may not have the details. Oh, and BTW, it is ONLY FOR ONE EXTRA EMERGENCY PULL/MONTH.

So please, let's CHILL with all the snarky entitlement where's mine issues.

If you think this ONE PULL/month will really help you out AND you fit into Mendel's criteria - then send a PM.
