I am currently rebuilding my credit and recently got approved by Barclays with a small limit. I need a larger limit but how do I increase my chances that they will comply and how long do I need to wait before asking?

Barclays generally rewards usage.

Use this card as much as you can... but find out when the statement closes, and make sure you pay it down to below 10% before the end of the cycle. Repeat this for 2-3 months and then call the backdoor number (if you haven't already).

Mine have been soft pulls from the website...

Sorry to hijack. I appd for the Arrival Plus card, called the recon # and they said it was automatically declined without checking my report because of adequate credit with Barclays.

He said he could manually review the application but I said cancel it and I'll try again in the future (want to BT the balance to my 0% card this week).

What would be the best thing to do? I already recieved my bonus miles for the US Airways card so I don't want to close it but I want the Arrival Plus.

Wait, unless you want to move limits around.

Same issue with Barclays with my mother and now my father. They freeze card for online purchase, in person purchase, even call beforehand to let them know of upcoming purchase and still declined. Call in to verify etc. They don't believe you so they make you go to a bank request a cash advance so teller can call them and verify it's you. Its really a pain in the flowers bank w my parents experiences

Tried to make an online purchase at Best Buy with a Barclay's card. Got an automated call from the fraud department asking me to call in and verify the purchase. Fraud dept said Best Buy was on their list of "sites that have a high number of fraudulent purchases." They said to call before any online purchase over $200 made at places where electronics were sold. A month or so later I attempted another online purchase resulting in another automated call from fraud dept. The purchase was attempted at Bed, Bath & Beyond for sheets and towels, home goods, etc. A couple hundred dollars. Nice lady in the fraud dept apologized and said it should not have happened, and gave me her personal extension if I wanted to purchase goods via internet in the future. She offered to "stay on the line" with me and personally authorize future transactions. I don't think so. I'll use another card. FWIW, this was a couple years ago so perhaps it's no longer an issue. I wouldn't know.

I've never had any problem with Barclay's for in-person transactions, even relatively high amounts.

My US Airways cards almost never hit my wallet... I use them almost exclusively for online purchases, and I've never had an issue.
