I was looking at that Williams Sonoma CC too. Mendel and CV talked me out of it.

Arrival is on my list.....

and US airways (now that I see you guys can't stop talking about it)

Make sure you get the Arrival+ for the bonus and then downgrade it in year 2.

$89 is a bargain for 40,000 miles.

I will look into this or Sallie Mae. It is nice to know you can have more than 2.

I can't remember who it is, but I've seen at least one person post that they have 5. That might be pushing it for most people.

That would make me nervous. Bringing back memories of Junami.

Good to know. They don't waive the AF the first year?

No, but the miles are credited after making a single purchase and paying the AF. I have about $10 usage on it since July.

The $10 was over the first 2 billing periods. :P

I'm following a specific strategy to try and get a spending challenge.

Nice job. Your strategy is going well.

I had 5 but transfered the limit from the NFL and closed it soon after I got #5. They are all used pretty heavily now and I always PIF

1. Rewards

2. Arrival

3. Tavelocity

4. Upromise

Go for it!

I app'd my 2nd Barclay today, the US Air card. 40k OneWorld miles for an $89af is awesome. I can transfer them to Cathay Pacific and fly RT from Hong Kong to Moscow, or Hong Kong to Katmandu for that. Or HK to DaNang or Saigon 2x's.

Beyond the weak sign-up bonus, what motivated you to get the NFL card in the first place? I'm asking this question every chance I get, and so far, recently, no one has answered me.

The sign up bonus and I put season tickets on the card. All in all a nice little bonus and the inq was gone before I even noticed. I will apply next year for the same reason.

I am not worried about average age, just churning. A year or so back they were waiving a $200 sign up bonus.

I read somewhere, I don't remember where, that that was one of the easier ones to get. Besides someone being an NFL fan, that might be the reasoning behind some people getting it. Not saying that was ronsetoe's motivation.

Sweet. 9k. Use the card once, bank the 40k miles. Use the companion tickets. Then read strategies how to transfer Barclay limits and dump before the next AF.

Fine. Peer pressure. Apped for Upromise and was approved. Only $350. My others were 2k.

Did you recon the limit?

I have not. I apped last night and got 10 day message. I checked status today and saw the approval. I am nervous to call them. Don't want to rock the boat?

Call the 866 analyst number found in other posts. Its open until 5pm EST. Don't be nervous, all they can say is no.

I think the paranoia about Barclays closing accounts is way overstated here. IMO, you should call and see if they can give you a more useful limit.

No black helicopters will be flying around?

I'll call tomorrow morning :)

After I put on my tin foil hat.

No need for foil accessories. Just call them - they have always been nice to me and it's definitely worth the call. :)
