TWO Inquiries, Same Company, Same Week

I have two hard pulls on my credit report from the SAME company, on two consecutive days! I did not approve of this? How do I get it removed?

Yes. Experian is showing a hard credit pull from an apartment complex. One on 10/28/ 2013 one on 10/29/2013

I will sometimes pull twice using a variant of the consumer name, just to make sure I get a complete file.

 

With Experian, it's usually a 25 month wait till they disappear.

If there were a need to use a variant of my name wouldn't it have been pulled the same day?

 

If a variant were used, why would it show up on my credit report twice? I have never used another name with my SSN

I would have the same day. But then again, I'm so busy, I won't take the time to wait a day. What I want to know, I want to know now.

 

CRA's do collect information in creditor inquiry mode.

I hate to say it, but when you give them permission to pull, this can happen.

 

Inquiries are not that big of a deal. I wouldn't worry about it, especially inquiries from an apartment complex.

You do need a place to live, so that trumps an extra inquiry.

Several months ago I applied, and was approved for, a BMO Harris Bank credit card. They somehow made two separate hard inquiries on Experian on different days. I called them and asked if one can be removed. Both ended up being removed. I'm sure not complaining about that. So it is possible.

OP has not answered weather he/she applied to the apartment complex that pulled the report twice; if so, then all replies above would apply. But if not, then it might be something to look into.

Why do I have a strong feeling that every time someone suggest that inquiries are not that important, their brain process that as. JUMP and try to achieve B*.. or is it just me?...

Inquiries are easy to understand. They're either there or they aren't.

 

It's human nature to gravitate to the problems (real or imagined) that we believe are most easily solved... regardless of their relative priority.

Thanks everyone. Yes I did apply to this apartment complex. I will call to see if it can be removed, checking never hurt. If it can't I won't make a fuss about it since there are other credit issues to be dealt with.
