No, those are two pretty worthless cards. Walmart is only useful for a transunion FICO score, which you are already getting via Barclays. And there are better cards if you think you need more TU scores (like Discover).

For Amazon.com purchases, use a Sallie Mae Mastercard (which is a Barclays card, but you can't apply via Barclays web site). 5% cash back on Grocery Stores (capped at $250/month), 5% cash back on Gas Stations (separate $250/month cap) and 5% cash back on Book Stores like Amazon.com purchases (capped at $750/month). https://www.salliemae.com/credit-cards/sallie-mae-card/

For Walmart, if you are in the Huntington Bank area, get their Voice card. If you are in HI, CA, NV, OR, WA try to get the JCB Marukai card for 3% cash back on everything, with a small annual fee. Otherwise just get a card that gives 2% cashback on all purchases, such as a Citi Double Cash MasterCard. In fact, get the Double Cash even if you get the Voice card...

Looking at the 10 cards in my signature, in the 4th quarter of 2014, cards #1, #2, #3, #4, #6 and #7 will all give me 5% cash back on amazon.com purchases. There really is no need to settle for 0% or 3% cash back at Amazon.

are you saying the USbank cash + , Citi Forward, and Salie Mae card giving 5% for all Amazon purchase? I heard the 5% only apply to some purchase which classified as bookstore.

Sallie Mae is on her way.

Took the plunge and got a smaller than hoped-for line at 5K but glad to get a 5% gas/amazon card. No luck with recon since Barclays wants other high limits to show besides themselves, my current reported high is Shat at 8K.

Thanks for the input here, peeps!

Got my good eye on the Sams MC for the 5% gas also...wonder if they are BK friendly?

Congrats!! The SM is such a great card!! :clapping:

Skip the Sam's MC unless you spend WAAAY more than SM's $250/mo cap.

Consider the Citi DC 2% for WM (not sure if they are BK-friendly).

I don't have the Forward.

Always remember, Its not what you purchase, its where you purchase it from. If you get 5% cash back on purchases from Book Stores, it doesn't have to be books. And Amazon started as a Book Store, and is still classified as such when using credit cards.

US Bank Cash+ you can choose Book Store as one of your Two 5% categories each quarter if you like. Sallie Mae always has 5% on Book Stores capped at $750/month. And 4th quarter of 2014 Chase Freedom will have 5% on Book Stores , and Discover It will have 5% on Online Shopping (Amazon.com IS an online store ;)
