ID For Debit Card Too!

So I've been using my credit card at Idaho likker stores to buy lottery, so I can get my reward points.

 

I go into one of my regular stores yesterday, and there's a sign taped to the counter: If you're paying with credit or debit card please have your ID ready. Never heard of them requiring ID on a debit card before.

 

Needless to say, I did report them to VISA. If anyone has a MC and is willing to put in a complaint please PM me for store details. I guess I need to apply for an MC so I can report future scofflaws myself since they no longer accept complaints from non-cardholders.

I don't know why it is surprising. If they're stupid enough to require ID for one it's unlikely they understand that credit and debit are different other than their POS unit may make them select one.

You would actually burn an inquiry to hopefully get a Mastercard, just to find a place that would ask you for ID just so you could file a complaint?
