I just can't see myself going for this card. I have many reasons I really don't like Citi, and this is worse than my Fidelity Amex which gives me the 2% right away. Why does Citi suck:

- As mentioned before, having to have 2 sign ons, one for Hilton card and one for AA card.

- Terrible web interface

- Have to beg and plead for reallocation

- Poor customer service

- Every time I ask for something it is a "no".

I'm basically just doing it for insurance. If Fidelity Amex goes away someday, it will be nice to have a backup.

You already have 2% Fidelity Amex?

I wouldn't count on Citi as a backup...

I should have clarified, lol. I agree, I probably would not have applied for it outright, but PCing from their other crap cards seemed like a no-brainer.

Yea I only have 2 co-branded cards which i keep for their various perks. They only see usage at their respective co-brands (AA/Hilton).

Well should Fidelity go away, then I can consider this...although at that point I may just switch to my Mileage Club Visa and get 1.5 miles/$...which is probably better than 2% cash from an equivalent $ standpoint.

Heck yeah they are, especially when redeemed for international awards!

Those who have done a PC when you did the PC did you get the terms of the Double Cash offer?, i.e 15 mos No Interest and did you keep the Interest rate of your existing card or did they issue a New Rate.

Thanks I am thinking about PC my existing Thank You Card

PCs are generally ineligible for the new app promo BT or purchase rate.

I called them to change Cash Returns WMC to Double Cash card yesterday. It only took 10 mins. It was simple. She told me it will be Mastercard. She could not tell me it will be WMC or Platinum. TGe card number will be changed. The terms of the card remains the same The APR is 11.99% I will received the card within 7-10 days. I can change back to Cash Returns MC if I change my mind before Nov. 28. I logged into my account after I hung up the phone. The new account already showed up on the lineup. It said the total credit limit instead of the total revolving limit. I think it will be regular Platinum MC. It didn't see it is Visa/MC on the account summary page. By the way, they will sent me the confirmation letter to confirm the product change.

Tried to move some of my limit over from my AAdvantage to the DC and they said no, not possible with the AAdvantage. Called the back door as well. Same answer.

I'll wait until my AAdvantage PCs to the Dividend and try again.

I really can't wait until they start converting the Forward cards to the TYP because maybe that way, I'll actually be eligible for a PC to the DC after that.

:stop: All of us who are still grandfathered in with 5% will be seriously bummed.

Unfortunately, I have the version of the Forward card without that 5% and it's the college version so it kinda sucks besides having that APR reduction stuff on it. Was recently able to get a big APR reduction through the EO.

Oh, I want this! Problem is, I also want the Fidelity Amex, and am leaning towards that as it can be used at Costco.

Yes, I realize I could get both. The double hit to my AAOA won't be that fun though.

If this had a signup bonus I would be all over it now, instead of waiting for my Arrival to get downgraded.

Just get the Fidelity Amex and call it good! :good:

Yeah, 12 pages on a 1% + 1% = 2% card is a little nuts. :D We already had a solution for this.

      Hello all,

I am wondering if anyone else has experience/advice to offer on this predicament. I have 6 cards, listed below for reference:

Bank of America Cash Rewards Visa Sig $10k/9.99 (6/2010)
Citi Diamond Preferred MasterCard $10.2k/11.99 (10/2012)
Chase Freedom Visa Sig $10k/15.24 (1/2012) (Call in to the EO about reducing the APR, given how much I spend, good luck to me though with Chase's stubbornness)
      Amex BCE $12.6k/10.24 (9/2011)
      Barclay Ring MC $5k/8.0 (4/2012)
Discover IT $19k/11.99 (9/2012) (Yes, subprime Discover loves to give me $4-5k soft pull increases every few months!)

Anyway, the Diamond Preferred is a good "backup" MC to keep in my wallet in case a purchase gets declined on a Visa card. I would like to have the World benefits, and mainly, I want it because there's no reason with my profile, limits, etc... for me to not have it (I had a Dividend card I closed because I got mad at Citi two years ago, which had a lower limit and was still a World card).

I've seen some people meet success just requesting a World card via phone (as I did with my previous card), but this time I am having no luck.

I've called the regular numbers, and even the EO & Twitter. When I find someone who even understands what I'm asking, they just start rattling off a list of annual-fee carrying airline cards I can convert to that are World cards. They've also told me you can only get offered the upgrade, which just doesn't sit right with what else I've seen. My conclusion is that Citi is pushing World/Sig away on no-AF cards, as it seems like anything without an AF (TY Preferred Visa, DP Visa, Simplicity Visa), is marketed as a regular Visa, while the AF cards are marketed as Sig cards.

Does anyone have an idea as to what I can do? Can I convert to a Dividend card if it isn't offered anymore? Is there anything I could do to get this converted to a World card?

      Thanks,
      A very frustrated smc733

My DW emailed the Citibank CEO asking for a goodwill deletion. They called her to get account info, then responded by letter a few days later that stated in part:

Do you think hey misunderstood our request? We are asking for deletion from the Credit Bureaus, not from their own internal records.

AAOA already destroyed due to new accts. This is one of the last links left. App is in and new EX Pin pulled. All I have to do is call it in. Do I really want to though? Just did the WEMC Platinum in May, spend complete.

I paid this debt off in settlement before I knew about the wonderful creditboards. I was bullied by Rubin & Rothman LLC associate that they will sue blah bah blah, that kept calling my phone, and eventually I agreed to pay $10,000 on $20.000/50% debt over a 6 months term. I paid the debt off as agreed. but Citi Card still reporting negative on CRA account... To add insult to injury I was hit with a Forgive Fed. Debt by the IRS ($7,600) for both NYC Federal ($1,212.58 paid) & NYC State ($1,000.3 still pending just received it last week). Collectively I paid more than half. If I knew what I knew now I would have just negotiated a deal with Citi Bank and paid for deletion... Any input will be greatly appreciated....
