Jack Attack- Still relevant?

So I have a little lull in the action right now while my existing irons do their work in their respective fires, so I've been researching and reading, looking for trends of what has had some success, what has had minor results, etc etc.

 

Came across the jack attack method in my readings, but haven't seen anything recent posted; seems like there was some good success with it in the 2009-2011 time frame, not much said since then. At least as far as I can find on here using the search.

 

Anyone still use this method and have success with it? Am I right to understand that the point is to pick apart a trade line and dispute line by line the individual incorrect items with the hopes that the processor will just go for a quickie delete button rather than proceeding?

Just used it literally a month ago to dispute a CO that was going to fall off naturally by Jan 2015.

 

My reasoning was that they would remove it easily considering its just about 4 months out.

 

They DID NOT. In fact they updated to increase the 'past due' balance and my score dropped 40 points.

 

I regret doing that. Damn, I am still kicking myself.

 

But I dont know if this is a recent trend!

I see, so you had some unintended consequences. Did you know the actual balance was higher?

 

That does suck though, hang in, Jan 2015 is coming quick

CC Limit was - 500

It was charged off with a balance that had bloated to 864.

The Past Due amount was 393.

 

The math didnt add up and I used this as one of the pointers in my 'disputing' list that this is not correct and asked them to 'Remove'

 

Now the past due balance is bumped up from 393 to 864.

 

My payment history has been updated to show 'Ok' all these years till date, when the last legit payment activity was 12/2008.

Wow! Sorry to hear that.

 

This credit repair process makes me feel like I'm in Vegas... it's a crapshoot.

 

So far, odds have been in my favor, hope my luck don't run out.

 

Maybe try another dispute tactic on it. Did you dispute every single error on the account or did you save one for a future dispute?
