I got a call from American Express. They told me to call them back. Did so. They told me that the computer has told them that I need to send them a 4506T to verify my income. It's not a problem as I have nothing to hide, but never have had to do this for a credit card... I have now read that Amex will do this some times. My income last year was no where near what it is this year. My tax return last year was small. This year it will be quite large.

I'm going to send the form in of course, but should I expect the card to be canceled based on last years income tax return?

Don't you have a BK less than a year old? Is it reporting on EX?

I don't understand how Amex even approved you when they frequently deny people with the reason of BK, even at 8-9 years.

Also

Still paying all accounts in full except for the few I let carry small balances, but I estimate utilization at less than .1% yes that's point .1 percent.

I have three vehicles financed, all paid on time and usually pay double the payment.

I did carry a $10.00 balance on my $10k line of credit at my credit union last month and .93 cents on my apple card from Barclays.

It's reporting on all 3.

My scores are high. I am spending a lot but keep everything paid.

Less than a year after BK with the BK reporting and Amex approved you? People get denied with super high FICOs and the only reason is a BK showing, even at 8-9 years. And on top of that, Barclays gave you a CLI to $75,000 on a single card with a BK showing?

I would like to believe you, but...

I'll tell you something else that no one will believe.... they pulled TU...and asked that I unlock Experian which I did and told them but they never pulled Experian.

Well I did make the comment that this is the lowest line card I have and could they grant it any higher. So they probably do want to increase it. I've sent everything in they requested. Guess I'll know something about Wednesday.

Start making your bets....

Credit Line Increase up to $75k...

or They cancel me....

Heg has $100K. Prior to the BK falling off, I don't think Amex would give him a card.

I'm just curious how the only story I've ever heard of someone with a BK under 8 years getting an Amex has a BK less than a year old, and Barclays also gave a $75 K CC. Two lenders that are quirky for certain things, it just seems odd.

Another possibility, assuming it's a NPSL, is that they impose a limit...sounds like perhaps they took a shot on OP but imagine the recent bk may potentially throw a damper on relations upon AR, at some point, even if it hasn't yet.

He says that he has 2, so I'm guessing both would not be charge cards.

Ok... well this is my knowledge on the subject. Anytime you request a credit line from Amex of 25k or higher, it is an instant 4506T.

My parents have been with Amex since 1983, have 10 different credit cards on their CR's with 50k lines or higher, and I would imagine my step dad's salary is somewhere around 500k a year. When my mom asked for a CLI to 35k, instant 4506T.

Also, I know nothing of Barclays... but as with everything credit related... YMMV.

Hey where did you get my selfie?

If I could snap a selfie at that angle, I would probably also be capable of certain other things, and I probably wouldn't leave the house.
