Almost B* Clean...got C*!

I started B* on July 15th. My EQ hards started falling off on Aug 1. I was able to B* 38 of my 40 inq in 18 days! I had just two more but was C* sometime today...oh well I did extraordinarily well. On a brighter note, I was able to B* TU clean at the end of last week.

My objective was not to gain points (although I did gain 23 pts. on EQ; haven't checked Myfico TU) but to rid myself of pointless inq and get a fresh start. I learned my lesson and will app more judiciously moving forward.

For those interested, this is what I used:

EQ = MPM (EIDT), Quizzle, and USAA

TU = Smartcredit, TUP (free trial), Lending Club, and Creditcard.com

 

...once the B* started, it took less than 3 weeks.

 

Thanks to the people who were helpful and graciously answered my questions even though they probably had been answered a thousand times...I appreciated it.

wow- thanks for clear info on how you did it..and news about TUP. I just signed up and it looks just like SmartCredit...is it basically the same thing but counts as a separate pull?

I just signed up for TUP which looks just like smartcredit- are they essentially the same thing but count each for B*?

SmartCredit is ten dollars and TransUnion Plus is forty dollars. I do not believe they are the same company, but their websites must have been designed by the same people. They also use different scoring models, but both check TransUnion for their information. SmartCredit always gives me twenty more pulls and TransUnion Plus is usually only ten more pulls.
