If you think your profile supports a higher limit, call and recon. The Barclays analysts will generally tell you if you are denied for a CLI what you need to do to get one.

+1 depends on the profile

Correct, and profile does not = scores. Usage plays a huge part with Barclays.

I was denied a CLI on my Rewards MC last year when my limit was $1500, and my TU FICO was in the 640s at the time. When I called to recon, I was approved for a CLI to $4500 after pointing out my monthly spend on other cards.

They only bumped me from 2k to 3k last month. For some old baddies. Their UW's do like to see clean reports too. They'll call you out. Twice they've said to me, "so why do you have this on file?"

Usage can trump baddies. I have 3 cards with Barclays right now-$6K, $5K and $1K (moved the limit on my Rewards MC)-and still have a ton of student loan baddies. They definitely bring it up, but having a lot of accounts in good standing after the baddies makes a difference.

I have way more good accounts than I do bad. It could be the usage. I was using my NFCU cc more than anything. I would apply for a different Barclays cc in the coming months as I'm cleaning up my TU file. I was really looking at that Williams-Sonoma.

At the time, I was using my NFCU CC as my main card and pointed out the $3-4K monthly spend on that card.

If you're looking for a decent limit, I don't think the Williams-Sonoma card is known for high limits. Why not do something like the Arrival+ for the signup bonus or the US Airways for the soon to be AA miles?

True. When are those miles going to merge? Have the companies officially merged yet?

The mileage programs are supposed to merge in 2015.

Shiiiit. Not with my EX file (or EQ) now that I think of it :P

I was approved for it (see score in sig).

How about baddies?

38 student loan baddies (paid and closed) and some late payments on a car loan several years ago.

OOOH. You are SPEAKING MY LANGUAGE. I didn't even consider the merger. I'm planning a mini AOR in a few days to prepare for a really big honeymoon next year. When will these programs get merged? It would be sweet to get the 50,000 sign up bonus on the Citi AA card (which seems to be given out like candy) and the US Air sign-up bonus and end up with a boatload of AA miles.....

They are just saying sometime in 2015. I'm hoping it's far enough away to get a second Barclays card.

You should jump on those offers now. The AA website has already changed back to the 30K offer on that card, but you can still get 50K through that link.

I'm waiting for the Citi Exec 100K offer to come back as well.

Wow mendel...

YOU really jacked this thread :P

That wasn't my goal. Sorry, belairpatrol. :) Edited by mendelssohn

Doh....I hope the 50k sticks around for a few more days. I'm waiting for C1 to report again....fiancee forgot to pay before the cycle ended, so util looked like 50% last month....it was back to 1% as soon as we noticed, but I'm waiting for it to show up reported that way to do any apps. Should be any day now....according to TU, they reported on the 9th last month....it's now the 12th and CS still shows the large util.......
