Looks like I picked a bad week to be optimistic about the value of our Turkish investments.

Thought of you and TD yesterday. All well with the family over there? Certainly didn't see that one coming.

Yes, everyone is fine, thank you.

Glad to hear that. Hope everything stabilizes soon.

I took my new anxiety medicine last night and slept 12+ hours. I am about to click confirm on a new Breville waffle maker. I thought I better check with those in the know... Should I get it? Is the one with the digital display worth $50-$100 more? I was tempted to put the $ after the numbers to annoy CV, but I couldn't bring myself to do it.

If the digital display also includes a timer that beeps at the end, you cannot live without it.

This is what it says:

"Equipped with Waffle IQ™, this smart waffle maker automatically calculates your waffle style and color. Simply select Belgian, classic, chocolate, buttermilk or custom; choose from 12 browning settings; and pour in the batter. The result is two slices of perfectly cooked waffles. Deep plates with embedded thermal-engineered heating elements distribute heat for even browning and produce thicker, fluffier waffles. A breeze to clean, the waffle iron has a wide wrap-around moat that catches batter overflow and cooks it for easy removal."

It sounds like they thought of everything, so I do think it beeps?

It would be a shame to get a 253 page thread closed. I don't want to spend the next five months splitting topics, and I won't do it - I'll just close them, and warn people.

This is the last unofficial warning, all of you who went down that path have been here long enough to know better.

We're all getting smacked for political talk, but they're both effing crazy. I need to figure out a way to get my BSN before January and move. Maybe somewhere tropical.

You can discuss politics in your PM's. Big time warning: you better stop slipping political comments into your posts.

Anything with Waffle IQ™ is worth the bucks.

You live in far south Alabama. How much more tropical can you get? The amazon?? (the jungle not the books-and-everything-reseller)

I'm clothes shopping for an October rendezvous with some college friends.

I've been trying all week to narrow it down to just one of these: https://parachute-pants.com

Plus red long sleeve t-shirt. You're welcome!

I fixed it so now all ads are blocked, and I don't get the silly popups saying "we noticed you're running AdBlock..." on websites. Yes, I run AdBlock. No, I don't care about how you pay your bills. It's bliss.

I allow it on certain sites. Like here.

Ok, all you car experts, have a wonderful VW TDI sportswagon, 17K miles, 2014, which gets 50 Mpg. I will get offered about $27K give car backwith the buyout or about $5,500 or so on the keep the car and accept fix which no one knows what will do to my sporty diesel 6 gear car.

What are the best alternatives, if I take the cash. I don't really want a SUV, I love this car but I am eternally confused.

All suggestions within reason $$. I can add in some bucks but don't wish to add in too much. I like mileage on HW no less than 35 Mpg. About 65% of mileage on highway.

many thanks, I am an ignoramus re cars.

what are you looking for? comfort, MPG? sporty? If you get 27k, your probably looking to finance a amount unless you have savings and intend on paying cash.

Calling an old friend and finding out they have a new girlfriend, and now I can't talk to him. She tells me to never call again.

Jeez... I live 5 states away.

She knows you want him.

I had him a long time ago. That's why we're only friends now :P

No Swag Eh?

however this is what made me want to stay single. I can

flourish in a relationship, but can't stand the I'm going to tell you what to do, who to talk to. and how you are gonna live your life MY WAY,

example my last GF, if a woman so much as said hi to me it was a problem. can't do that I really can't.

yesterday I went to the warped tour with my old GF from a few years back. we had a blast and since I know one of the guys personally from her favorite band. the idea of meeting them was totally awesome to her. I made fun of her though cause she went all fan girl on me like a 13 y/o at a Justin Bieber concert.

spent the night her place came home this morning. no way having a GF will ever let anything like that happening.

Volvo unveiled the V90 for 2017, not sure if they are releasing a diesel version for the states. but a 2.0 stripped down without a Supercharger should provide you with great MPG.
