pwd847
I am on the Metra right now. Metra is owned by Amtrak and is a commuter rail in the Chicago area. So I'm on my way back from Aurora, IL where I was playing poker. We just pulled out of the station and had been riding for a few minutes. Next the train stops and there is an announcement about being delayed due to a crossing issue. The conductor was very unsure of himself when he made this announcement. I could tell something was wrong. About 2 mins later I see a bunch of police pull up and then a full size fire truck and an ambulance. I was starting to wonder if my safety was in danger. After sitting for about 10 mins the ticket guy who checks tickets and sells them to you comes up and says he needs to talk to me. I'm thinking WTF?!?! I don't need any more police drama in my life. He starts to say that I may not be able to get where I am going and he can refund my ticket if I would like. Then the guys radio starts going off and I hear, "OK we are clear to go east." I ask if my safety is in danger. He says. "No you are fine. We.....uhhhhh......we think we may have hit someone." Then the radio comes on again and I hear, "Yup we ran clean over the top of him. The fire department has him in custody now and we are clear to head east." Some dude waited in the bushes until the train was close, then ran up and laid down in the tracks. It freaks me out to think that my body was within maybe 8 ft of this guys "pieces" as I passed over him. Also, he was probably still conscious as I passed over the top of this guy. I would assume he probably stayed conscious for at least a few seconds after being run over/cut in two/dismembered/split open/splattered across the tracks/smushed/crushed/mutilated. I will say this, he had some guts to pull a stunt like that. And now the train is on it's merry way.....well, it's NOT so merry way. I think I will refer to this as the death train from now on. People are stupid. We have a few sets of tracks that run through our downtown area. A while back, some drunk guy thought it would be funny to lay on the track as a train was coming and then jump off at the last minute. Yeah, he got his foot severed right off. salamander. cv91915
I have a colleague who will not call me when she wants to talk on the phone. She sends me an email and asks me to call her. Drives me crazy.
CTSoxFan
I hate when people schedule meetings without looking at your calendar first to see if you have something booked already. That one also gets on my tits. It seems like hardly anyone reads their policies or gets involved in what coverage they actually have to make an informed decision. They just assume insurance covers everything.

dansamy
If your plane is in the air & flooded, you have bigger problems than what your homeowner's insurance covers...

IndyPoolPlayer
Metra is owned by Amtrak and is a commuter rail in the Chicago area. Nitpick: Metra is owned by the Illinois Regional Transit Authority - it operates on some tracks owned by freight railroads (CN, BNSF, NS, etc.) that Amtrak also uses, and Metra owns their own (Metra Electric - shared with the South Shore) rails on a couple lines. Krish
I hate when people schedule meetings without looking at your calendar first to see if you have something booked already. I mean it takes 30 seconds to see when I am free, yet you schedule when I am booked...then wonder why I didn't show up. That too.. and worst of all, they send out a meeting invite at 8pm for 7 am meeting the next morning... and they have a nerve to say you did not call in.. really?? cv91915
I just installed Office 2016 for Mac. The fonts in Excel are so lightweight that it's very hard to read spreadsheets on this giant iMac. These are the same spreadsheets and the same fonts I've been using for several years with the Office 2011.

dansamy
Roller skates. Omg, I'm exhausted! I haven't been on skates since I was 10. And I broke my arm then. I only fell twice today. Thanks to my boys!

These people keep scheduling 7PM calls, I'm gonna schedule them for 7AM calls I spend about half of my time on Pacific Time and the other half on Eastern Time. The problem with Outlook for someone like me (unless someone has a workaround) is that my entire availability is based on the time zone I'm currently in. That makes it look like I'll be available at 4:00 p.m. Pacific Time in two weeks, for example, when in reality I'll be in Mudland and pretty annoyed if I have to dial into a non-critical call at 7:00 p.m.

I have people that I work with that have similar schedules. The guilty parties are permanently based on the West Coast, they don't travel. cashnocredit
Was looking forward to a nice dinner with friends at Veladora this weekend. Then I ran across a bit of news and decided to avoid the crowds. I don't like crowds or lines.

Bad Doctor Frost
Luckily, my dealer has a coffee shop and a massage place if I have to wait there. However, they also give out loaners equivalent to what you take in. Yay. Subaru dealer, on the other hand, is like bottom of the barrel. They have a TV in the corner and some coloring books and magazines on a table. Dear Subaru, step up your waiting area game. Our Toyota dealer has a waterfall and a windmill inside. You're being beat by Toyota, of all things. Toyota!
