Amex decline reasons. Does this mean I'm off their BL?

I received my denial letter from AMEX today and was curious about the reasons they have listed.

  • Number of trades (Experian)
  • Your FICO Score (680)
  • Our evaluation of the inquiries on your credit report based on the number, type, and recency. (Experian)
  • Too many new accounts. (Experian)

Unlike my Chase letter that specifically said I had a bad history with them, does this mean I'm off AMEX's BL? And I just need to clean my report up?

How long has it been since you burned them?

Looking back on my records it was placed in collections in 4/2009. And last official Amex correspondence was in late 08.

I knew it wasn't that long ago which is why I didn't even think to apply for them first. Guess I was wrong.

You should add it to BobWang's Master Blacklist thread. The time you are on it could also be affected by the amount that was charged off (where higher $ = longer blacklist).
