I have 5 baddies remaining on my credit report. All 5 are PIF, and all are going to fall off within the next 10-15 months. 2 of these are from OC's and from what I can tell are VERY unlikely to be removed early (Amex and BOA). The other 3 accounts are all Midland Credit Management. They are all CO's that were PIF before I discovered that you can negotiate for a pay for delete with the collection agencies (boo...).

I have done some research online and it seems that MCM is one of the worst CA's that can hold your account. I have called MCM 4-5 different times and spoken with 3 levels of supervisors attempting to get a goodwill deletion and they have all told me the same story: MCM does not delete any accounts, even PIF. I submitted a dispute to TU this past Monday with a request to verify all information in hopes that MCM will not bother, but am looking for any other ideas or strategies I can use. I have not yet tried sending any letters or emails to MCM. Has anyone had success bombarding executives / managers at MCM with emails? If so, who should I be emailing?

Also, strangely, MCM is only reporting on EX and TU, not on EQ. Is there any way I can use this to my advantage?

Any help would be appreciated. Need to see these baddies gone!

Stay off the phone. Stay off the phone. Stay off the phone.

I appreciate your need to converse directly, but it is not the way to handle this situation.

Have you deleted all old addresses from your Experian CR? Equifax? Transunion?

Do a quick search on Midland and read.

There has been some documented success with disputing "soon to fall off collections" with the CRA's and getting them removed early.

This was going to be the next step. The reason I want to have these TL's removed early is because I am planning to buy a house in early 2015. I was thinking if MCM validates the accounts that I will dispute as "too old" or "soon to fall off" in November or December since they will be falling off by July 2015 anyway.

This is what you need to try first. Doing a DV on paid accounts will probably not help matters.

Do as SBA says and remove old addresses if you moved since the CA got the account. Cant hurt

I remember reading somewhere that this could impact otherwise helpful old account too. My oldest accounts are likely still tied to my old addresses; is there a chance I could lost those TL's from my CR if the old addresses are deleted?

You are unlikely to lose them if you don't dispute them. <----- Notice I did not say impossible. Weird things have happened when people tried to clean up their credit.

No guarantees, got it. I don't know if I should risk it then, as I have moved a LOT in the past 10 years and my oldest accounts are tied to some addresses from just as far back. Those accounts are now closed though and haven't reported for a while, so it is probably unlikely that they would just disappear. Just can't decide if I want to roll the dice.

Has anyone had luck with Midland doing a goodwill removal by emailing managers / executives / etc.?

GW letters are not the first step. Try and find reporting errors and dispute based on that.

Remove all old addresses from your credit reports and dispute again.

Midland can't even spell goodwill, don't waste your time.
