I thought that I'd never see the day, at least not until 2016 and 2017. I almost gave up, but stayed on it and the two toughest collections agencies are now off my CRAs. I'm down to 6 baddies, started with 18 when I joined CB the begining of February. I know longer have to put a deposit on every I need, i.e. utilities.

Thanks CB!

What worked? They got tired of hearing from me and couldn't produce a DOFD. Calvary was collecting for HSBC which is now Capital One and Capital One sent a letter of verification letter on HSBC's letterhead (no longer in business) with Capital One's address...so you know how that went down. Portfolio on the otherhand admitted on a three way call with Experian that they could not send me physical documentation of the DOFD because they were just going by what their computer said.

I love that story! You just don't like any company with the name Portfolio in their company name, right?

Or do you just hate baddies? Now, they are just bad memories. On to something else.

Congratulations! How did you get Ex and Portfolio on a three way? Just wondering :yu:

That sounds dirty.

Lolz. How did I get Ex and Portfolio on a three way (call)? It all started with my first dispute...I disputed the DOFD, which was in 2006. Portfolio, of course, "verified" the DOFD as 2008 which was BS and left it on the report. When I received my new report from Exp I noticed they updated my report to state, "Date of First Activity" and "Collection Activity" as Jan 2014 and Feb 2014, the dates of the dispute (not good!) I called Exp and told them to correct it, explaining that there is no way this account's activity was in 2014 and that they incorrectly updated my report to the dispute dates. A few disputes later and a couple of nasty calls to Exp I was connected to an Exp rep who suggested we call Portfolio to correct the problem. Portfolio admitted on the phone they couldn't produce the information and I ran with that, asking the Exp rep how on earth could they update my report based on Portfolio's lack of ability to accurately verify the DOFD. Both Portfolio and Exp screwed up...there it is. I started out just hoping to have the TL removed from Exp and ended up getting it removed from all CRAs.
