I've been repairing my credit since this January and decided to tackle Cap 1 this month. Due to a divorce, life events, and a deployment, I was late 24 times on 2 accounts. I found the CEO's email address on this site and wrote him explaining that my good will letter was denied along with several phone calls asking for forgiveness. I kept it short and respectful.

Within the last 12 hours, both cards have had their balances zeroed out, all late fees have been refunded to include interest, and the CEO's secretary just called to inform me that all of my lates have been reported to the 3 CRAs as current. And she's mailing me a letter to confirm.

Somebody hand me the defibrillator!!!!!!!!

richard.fairbank@capitolone.com is the address I used. There's also a thread on CB using the address also. So, feel free to double check his contact info.

I'd keep it short and to the point.

Holy cow! That is absolutely amazing! Congrats!!

People may not like them too much but they gave me another chance after a chargeoff 8 years ago and I am very grateful and happy to give them my business.

That's how I feel about them too.

While I never had a charge off, they were instrumental in my rebuilding of credit and I'm thankful for that.

Yeah their customer service isn't the best but I'm quite impressed with the EO. They have removed my card fees permanently and facilitated several CLI requests.

See? Not so much "Crap One," huh.

Now watch that term be used in the next response as to this company by that poster.

And CONGRATS!!! :clapping:

You talked to a female there, I take it? ;)

LOL! Yes ma'am. Still have 2 more to go. : )

That'd be a great reason to celebrate on July 4....
Just be aware of your local fireworks laws and ordinances.
