Amazon just raised the minimum denomination for gift cards from $0.15 to $0.50.

That's a 233% increase in the price of forfeited rewards to keep your non-rewards cards active. :(

And a 233% increase in the cost of certain signup bonuses. :(

Assuming 4 purchases on a crappy 1% cash back card per year vs. 5% on a SM MC, you will be missing out on a grand total of $.08 in rewards per card annually.

50 cents ain't gonna break your bank. These days, 50 cents will buy you a loaf of turd, thanks to the Federal Reserve's incessant printing.

Besides, you get to spend it on Amazon.

You only get to spend the 50 cents on Amazon.

The bonus you forfeited on that extra $.35 per card, per use is gone forever. These things add up.

This is just one more reason to think very carefully before apping for a bunch of useless cards. You may think they're free because there's no AF, but there are hidden costs. Now keeping a card active is going to cost you at least another 5% of $.35 every single time you use it.

I don't get it...

I'm a newbie tho so that's not surprising.

Why not just physically use the credit card every so often? Because you're missing out on bonuses from your other cards or something like that?

I pay $3 every day for parking. That's at least 20 $3 charges per month. No worries about keeping my cards active. I know everybody doesn't have this opportunity at making daily repetitive small charges in order to keep their card active, but there are enough small charges made in everyday life that it shouldn't come down to $.15 needless charges every so many months to keep cards active.

No, Amazon really did raise the minimum for a gift card with email delivery from $0.15 to $0.50. I don't think it's funny at all.

That's $8 PER CARD over the remainder of my lifetime! :stop:

Of course, that's assuming I live to be 142 years old.

Your attempts to deny the allegations are underwhelming.
