if you spend a shitload at amazon each year (thousands) using a ATM visa from Bank of America and have assets, cash, but not too much income...scores in the mid 600 on TU, can you get a card (h0wever small) at amazon?

If you have a mid-600 score and buy a lot of crap from Amazon I'd get the Sallie Mae MC... It's Barclays, so expect a TU pull.

The current 5% promo on the Amazon card smells like a promo to me.

CV1915, YOU ROCK!!!!!!!! TU is my best card and I am on my way to a big clean-up on a few large items so it should be rising shortly...does it matter to them that I am a good customer? do they look up your account?

As cv suggested try for the Sallie Mae Barclaycard.

And if you decide to go for the Amazon , they gave me the highest cl of all my Synchrony cards - if that helps.

Its the better card, but it also has much more stringent requirements to get onboard with.

Don't expect to get approved if you're under 700.

Search for Sallie Mae in Creditpulls for a reference point. You'll see what I mean.

Some did get the approval under it, but a large majority were 700+

We covered this earlier this week. :P Almost all of the data in CP on the SM card is approval data. Decline data is a LOT more telling, and there's almost none of it for this card from 2013 forward.

I don't need CP to tell me that my chances of approval are very good with a high FICO.

I don't need CP to tell me that my chances of approval are would be very good with a high FICO if not for the fact that I just opened half a dozen Barclays cards for signup bonuses.

Edited for accuracy.

thank you muchly. I am about to pay off a big Citi in settlement with a delete (caught them doing something very no-no) and my tax lien is now OFF nystate records (still on my credit reports, must address).. Got rid of Discover, now 'paid as agreed", no late history anymore...I feel like the guy in All In the Family who moved from the margins into the "hood".. but I am still in Archie Bunker land, looking to move uptown...MIGHT be able to get my old mortgage off my record or change it from recording lates... Found a sympathetic woman... There might be hope in the world.

Oh, to be in the upper 600's, just a few more days til my new FICO scores. for someone who reached the depths of the 400;s, I am moving slowly but surely but a few of the little ones are pretty tough... I long to be free of Dell. They are just plain nasty. .

My Walmart score is 612 and I was recently approved for an Amazon Store card with a $600 limit, so I think your chances are pretty good for approval. I think any Barclays card is iffy...

chase sold my accounts to collectors... off my credit reports except for a chargeoff, small, on Experian which doesn't follow the NY 5 year purge... Does Chase pull TU possibly vs. Experian. My experian is terrible due the the differential...
