I have been a lurker on here since 05/06. I learned about the *B* method and used True Credit back in 2007. I was banned along with many others, however, it's been 7 years and Transunion is blocking access to my credit information.

I didn't sweat it much because I used other products and was able to login on Transunion.com. Well after all these years, this month, they blocked my access to that too and changed the secret question and my password so I couldn't get a new password. I called in and they of course brought up the TrueCredit account which is totally separate from the Transunion login. I mostly did my disputing on Transunion and to view my file.

They told me that I can order my report once a year from annualcreditreport.com. I am livid! How dare they think that it is okay to allow creditors to report whatever they want some of which is not mine and inaccurate and Transunion be allowed to report whatever they want but I'm only supposed to check this once a year.

They have blocked my access a few times in the past but it always eventually releases. One time they did it because they said I filed a BBB dispute against them which is my right.

I am sick of them being able to get away with blocking people access to their files online. I have seen the topic tossed around about filing a class action lawsuit but I really want to do it. Can we get a group started to proceed please!!

If you want to start a suit against them contact an attorney. Class actions really don't benefit individuals much but it sounds like they are on the edge of what the law provides you for rights if not violating them.

Then again, as far as I know they are only required by law to provide your file once per year and when denied credit.

It seems to me that they may only be denying you access to their services and a business has the right to refuse service, under conditions.

Yes, I think contacting a skilled attorney would be best. When I did a search and saw the posts of how many people Transunion does this to, I thought a class action suit would be the way to go. Transunion will have to adjust the way that they treat us, their customers by default.

I filed a Federal suit vs. TU back in 2006/2007; $ettled out of court. Apparently the encounter caused much butthurt: have never been granted online access since - they will only distribute reports and communicate to me in writing.

Wow. Good for you on winning your case. It seems that once you fight them, they make things difficult and flag your account. I think these tactics are illegal.

I'm not sure. I have received notices to activate my participation in a few of them. There was one that I replied to in 07/08 against TrueCredit and even though I was "blocked", I suddenly had access for 3 months free because of that class action suit that was won against them.

Transunion will have to adjust the way that they treat us, their customers by default.

The problem with this is that we are not their customers; they really coudn't care less about us.

+1

They make money off of you by selling your info. You could technically just freeze your report with them and they would lose a little.

If enough people froze their reports for this reason they might take the hint but the number of people before they notice would have to be very large.

I got my access quickly restored after filing CFPB complaint.

Typically an attorney will offer to take on the costs of a class-action lawsuit if they deem it worthy, and get paid only from a settlement / award (or by you if they do all the work and you decide to just drop it). That being said, no disrespect but I can't see how any attorney would find this actionable and take it on.
